tattoos too pale [Solved]

Hi,
I changed the skin on this character and reapplied the tatoos, but the tattoos are now really pale. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works. What do you think could be going wong and how can I fix it?
See attached.
Thanks

The tatooo should be on both the images for the base color and the translucency (using multiply).
I didn't check that because I used tatts from the Smart Content pane, however they are applied correctly using multiplactive blend (multiply is Photoshop jargon)
Having said that the torso diffuse map was applied in several other places namely top coat curve (both) and transmitted colour, for ease I set up the Base Color using the LIE then after Accepting it, I single clicked on that Base color mask tab and noted the new image ticked then selected the same new image for the rest of the tabs that were using the diffuse map for that surface, repeating for the arms and legs (no tatts on the face)
