Charger: Fantasy Bridle in Poser not conforming or parenting

Ok, the topic says it all. I've used Poser since version 3, so I know how to use it (I'm also a Poser Ambassador) ... This has my stymied. I think there may be a hiearchy issue but then I haven't come up with this issue before so not sure there.
When I move the head of the charger, the bridle stays put after I parent it to the Charger's head. When I conform the bridle goes off in some bazzar position not associated with the Charger. I will look at the hiearchy again ... but thought I would bring this here to see what you all thought of it.

Just to let you know that the reins are all wonky as well. I need this for a project I'm working on, so help would be appeciated.
Totally forgot I had these, so had to dl/reinstall them 1st
.
The bad news; I get similar problems in PPro11! Not sure what causes it. I've had these problems before with a clothing item for the MGPS. That functioned well up and with Poser 8, but got wonky from PP2010 and upwards...
Now I also tried them in DS4.11beta. The 'Charger with Tack' cr2 is pretty much unusable. I don't how to explain (not a modeler), but DS shows me some parts (esp the reins) don't load in as they should.
However loading 'Charger Map', 'Charger Mane', Charger Saddle' and 'Charger Briddle' (in DS) separately and then 'fit to' (conform) the mane, saddle and bridle to the horse works fine in DS. (and the same was true for the outfit mentioned, that also works well in DS). But again, trying this in Poser doesn't help.. I'm afraid no simple solution available......
As an example, the Charger with the parts separately loaded, rendered in DS.
The Charger with Tack loaded in DS; in the scene tab you can see that the right rein is part of the head of the bridle, the left rein is not, and it can't be altered in DS by trying to reparent that.
The Charger with the various parts; in the scene tab the left and right rein are part of the head of the bridle
Ok, something that does seem to work (for me, in PPro11); load the charger+tack cr2, remove the bridle + reins and load+conform the separate bridle....
