How do I copy a Decal in Daz Studio?
I would to know how do I copy a decal that on a vehicle and move the decal to a different location on the vehicle?
By Decal I mean a section on the model that you can click on with the Surface Selection Tool & it’s highlighted.
If I can’t move it is that way I can add my own decal to the vehicle?
Thanks,

Same basic model or different? If different then the UVs, which determine how the image wraps around the model, will not match. If the vehicles are plain to begin with and you are rendering in Iray you can use a Decal node to project onto the model. You can also use the Layered Image Editor to overlay a decal image onto the base textures, if the UVs are reasonably flat. Both of those approaches require that you have a file for the decal image and a mask, white where the decal shoudl go and black elsewhere.
Sorry for the delay this reply, but I’m using the model seen below... I want to keep the base color but modify the decals as in different location or design with the hopes of doing a completely different paintjob.
Thanks,
Ah, well you'd really need to use the UV templates to guide you in creating a new texture in an image editor, I think, or even use a 3D painting tool.
If there is no texture template to find, you have some options.
You could open the original textures in an image editor and paint on them save the image under another name and repalce it in the DazStudio Surface pane - it can be found in the Diffuse channel of the shaer settings.
You could also have a look how the UV layout looks like in DazStudio with the surface selected press Perspective view in the upper right corner and choose UV View from the list.
You can also downlaod a Script for DazStudio that creates those "texture templates" / UV templates or how do you call them.
mcjTemplate comes to Daz Studio 4.5 (Updated April 2017)
You could also use actual decals if you are rendering in Iray: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/75203/wtut-decal-will-s-iray-decal-tutorial#latest
