Can I make a camera "orbit" in a circle around an object?

I have a camera set up to "point at" a figure in my scene, but I would like to have this camera move around that figure in a circle. Right now I just have keyframes set for the camera every 90 degrees at a consistent distance from my figure, so the camera does go around the figure, but the motion between the points moves in a straight line, not along the edge of a circle, so looks very jumpy and uneven. Is there a way to set up the camera to orbit an object so that the camera effectively travels along the edge of a circle around an object, so it always keeps the same distance from it?

I'm using DAZ Studio 4.6, with the camera set to point at a figure, that is not moving. The only thing moving in the scene will be the camera.

    The simplest option is probably to parent the camera to a null located at the centre point and then to rotate the null.

    Another thing to note that the camera rotation around an object is based on the focal length parameter on the camera, so if you wish the camera to rotate around an object, taking a little time to get the focal length set correctly would probably help also.

    For animation / doing a full 360 rotation, Richard's suggestion is right on point though.

    If you're looking for a less perfectly circular option; point the camera at (a null for example) and then from top view move the camera and move the null for tweaking where exactly the camera should point.

    You would have to correct the camera as you moved it as the rotation could get a little wild; it's useful on occasions.

    You could also parent all of your items except the camera to the figure you want to rotate the camera around.

    Set your camera where you want it, select the figure, then rotate the entire scene around the "Y" axis.
