Can I import my content from a previous install of Daz Studio Pro

At the start of the year I got myself a powerful new windows PC, but I just found out I never got around to installing Daz Studio Pro!

Naturally I want to remedy this ASAP, but I REALLY don't want to wade through setting everything up again from scratch. Apart from all the content, I have saved versions of files too, of course.

So, is there a way I can import everything from my previous install? That PC is still with m,e, (and still on the same network which I hope will make life easy...)

All clues very gratefully received.

Nick

Yes, just place the files on your new machine and point DAZ Studio to them - easiest way to do that is to open the Content Library pane and right click on Poser formats and DAZ Studio formats in turn, choosing the Add ... directory option from each menu.

I have not done a new set up of my DS in years what I do is Install DS on the new computer this makes sure all the registry files are in place. I then copy my complete DS folder from my other PC and other write the new install on the new PC. Because I have multiple content and runtime folders I make sure it can then see them all and I am good to go. I don't need to re-install any content or plugins.

Now a word of warning I don't use CMS, Smart Content or the database manager so I have no idea how my method with cope with them.

If using CMS just copy the Folders from the OLD PC into the SAME folders on the NEW PC and copy the Content Database folder from the old PC to the New PC and put it in the CMS folder as it is on the old PC.

In other words, MIRROR the old PC 100% with all the folders, content and CMS ones.

    Hmmm...

I was able to add a big folder of stuff in "my library", and it chugged through nice and fast, lots of bought products appeared and became available.

But some seem to be missing, notably my Michael and Victoria base figures, (though I see plenty of add ons).

Am I missing something? Is there somewhere else I need to check?

    Thanks,
    Nick
