Which video card should I buy GTX 1080TI or RTX 2080?

I have money to buy a new video card (I'm buying for rendering). For me it has GPU Rendering so what it's worth is the amount of CUDAS CORE. What would be the best choice between the two? (I use IRAY, VRAY and OCTANE)
As far as I know the RTX has less GB and CUDAS than the 1080TI.
Thank you for your help!

There are no Iray drivers for the 2000 series cards at the moment so I would definately go for the 1080ti.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Iray is working on 20x0 cards in the 4.11 Public beta, benchmarks have been posted. What is currently lacking is code to take full advantage of the RTX cores, but there is a speed increase from the new chips - whether it's big enough to justify the price difference will depend on how much money you have to spare, and what other calls you have on it.

What card are you using now?

If you've been using Daz Studio for a while, then you should already know how much memory your card uses while rendering.

Btw, they are price gouging on Amazon and Ebay for RTX cards. Some of these prices are absolutely ridiculous. If I was going to buy a RTX card,  I would get it at a retail store that sells at retail prices.

  • Thanks everyone for the help, I saw a GTX 1080 IT MSI ARMOR worth buying it? Will I perform well in rendering on DAZ STUDIO?
*My current video card is the GTX 960 4GB

New or used? You take your chances buying a used card, because you don't know if it was being used as a mining card.
