Help needed to turn an idea into a Photo Rendering

I rarely use Daz Studio (DS) therefore I’m not good at lighting and “scene” layout.  Where I’m more comfortable in the 3D world is modeling.

Therefore I need your help with taking the test render & putting a white plane (still W.I.P.) in flight at altitude about 30,000 feet.

The Test Rendering is rendered in Delight due to the age of the model used.

Thanks,

If you are looking for something to use inside studio, try the "above the clouds" series by Marshian https://www.daz3d.com/marshian

Flipmode's environment also are usable for that purpose: https://www.daz3d.com/flipmode

    There's also this set: https://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-ibl-above-the-clouds-hdri

    And https://www.daz3d.com/skies-of-iradiance-high-sky-hdri-bundle-for-iray

These sets will also do the lights.

By the way, for your older plane, you can easily convert it to Iray, if you wish. It looks like it's mostly metals shaders.

A sky HDRI will allow you to render the plane "in the sky" in iRay.  The HDRI also provides the lighting for the scene.  Simply load and render.

You need to set your render settings to Iray, Dome&Scene. It will not show up in 3Delight.

Do you have any of the suggested HDRI-packages? For example, I have used https://www.daz3d.com/epic-skydomes-cloud-haven-hdri/

You load the HDRI though the icons in the Content/Smart content. They usually will set up the secene for you.

I loaded my plane and positioned it. In my case, I switched off the ground floor because of the shadows, but you can leave them on if the scene requires it.

I also moved the camera a bit.

When I start an Iray Render now, the HDRI gives me light, and provides the background imagery, as long as you keep the setting "Draw Dome" switched to "On". Otherwise, you'll just get the light.
