Animating Genesis 8 figure but with Genesis 3 aniblocks?

Hi,

 

I was wondering if it was possible to animated G8 figures using aniblocks meant for G3 figures?  Is there a conversion script that i can use to make that work? or if not how about copying all of a G8 figures appearances to a G3 figure? like textures and body shapes?

 

Or maybe for something a bit more advanced...is it possible to export the animation sequence itself out of Daz into Blender, Maya or 3dsm? because if so i could probably just convert my G8 figures resting pose from A to T, export the G8 figure to Blender or something else and copy the rigging/skin weights from a G3 to that G8 and then the animation sequence should work on that G8.

    or even better, this: https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-pose-mixer

    for pose conversion when the animation is loaded in studio, per frame. When you export G8 outside of Studio, it will lose some functionality. Maybe an easier solution would be to try and get the shape morph transferred from your G8 to a G3.

    I've read of some people trying pose converters but they mentioned having a few difficulties when using it on animation.  I might just try transferring the G8 character shape/textures onto a G3 then.  Are there any products, scripts or tutorials that you can recommend for that?

  • Finally figured it out...i just ended up taking my morphed G8 and tranferring it over to a G3 figure.  Found a similar looking texture map and i already had an autofit script for G8 clothing to G3 figures made up from before.  The tutorial below is for G3 to G8 but you can also do it the other way to go from G8 to G3.

    Here are comparison pics of the G8 model and her clothes and my first attempt to match her appearance using G3 textures.  I might try to find a base map with lighter skin tone, better eye textures and natural lip color and no gloss.  First pic is the G8 model and second pic is my first draft recreation of it on a G3.  I cant post it on here since it would be NSFW but the body proportions did carry over too. Only thing i need to figure out is how to save the morph settings on the clothing items.  I saved the G3 file, and reloaded it and the clothes went back to default form.
