Has anyone been approached from outside the US in regards to producing sexually explicit material?
This is the email I received via DAZ messages.

[name removed] sent you a message.

Hi, I am Monika from Ukraine. I don't know you, but I think you can help me, because I have only starter packages of DAZ Studio basic products and my male and female characters got no morphological elements at all, they seems to look realy stupid without genitals.

[link removed]

Please help me, I can make a realy great game with a little help - All I need is: 30 render images of male and female characters having sex in some positions.

Thank you, Monika

I had one a few days ago with a different text about a porn project involving genesis and making a game - I deleted the message and blocked the user (couldn't find a way to report them), think it was aliben as well.

  • I'm wondering what the scam is then.
Typically you get the Africans wanting to send you a bad check or have you act as a drop site for stolen charge card merchandise.

    This is new.

I don't really see the angle either - except perhaps that they get pictures for free to use.

  • Well, supplying the anatomical elements to someone else would clearly be a breach of the EULA.

You can delete the PMs  by going to the inbox, clicking the gear icon an then clicking remove conversation

But what if this becomes a trend, and I'd like to report a message as well as get rid of it?  I know I can block a user, but I can imagine that DAZ might want to know too if this keeps happening. Or do we just drop it in the forums?

Mine is actually Ukrainian (big difference) in origin but all is noted.

One of the many curious things abouit this is why they cannot aquire the "anatomical" parts on their own.
They came with most of the models I've aquired.

Seems to me that this is either a trolling setup by law enforcement or the scam comes later after the agreement is made and payment is requested.

Also curious as to how they tapped me and why DAZ released my personal member info that they could tap me.
That bothers me a great deal.
Im guessing they got it from the forum.

Any logged in user can click your name in any of your posts and send you a message, which you will then receive email notification of from the site if configured to do so.  The member does not get any personal details.

Ah, I suspected there was something phishy going on — I got two of those messages the other day as well. I just ignored them. The most recent incarnation of the 419 Scam saga, maybe...?

I haven't received anything like this but the scam seems pretty obvious.

They aren't asking for the anatomical elements, they are asking for porn renders from you. If they get them, they can then turn around and sell them claiming them as their own work.

You do the work - they make the money.

Seems almost too easy as an angle LOL, but I think you're right.

People on other sites sell sex scenes made up of 40-50 images all the time.  You arent the only one that got this email from someone who can "make really great games".  How many people do you suppose got a similar email? 10's? hundreds? out of those how many were gullible enough to send 30 pics of what the scammer asked? if nobody sends any pictures the scammer makes no money.  If they get even 1 reply then all they have to do is resell the pictures and make money.  Just because someone already made the pictures before and may have already posted them up for sale before isnt going to stop anyone.  If you look at the 3d cgi community like blender and sfm you'll see that all the time.  Where the original creator posts their work and then someone else reposts it as their own and even manages to make money off of it.

Just a quick note as I heard from this person as well. If you click on a username and view their profile, the gear button gives you an "ignore" option. That will stop them from being able to send you any more direct messages.

Well, if someone wants renders of pr0n we could always use lots of this figure in the scene...

I often get requests like this on my webcomic site.
My response is to send them this image:
    https://www.deviantart.com/cat-man-dancing/art/A-Gift-for-You-571854084
It's not porn by any stretch, but it might be NSFW.
One indie company paid me to use it for a greeting card!

I actually do make some money with custom images. When people ask for
something specific, I send them a price. Some pay it, and even ask for more
later. If they want to claim it as their own work, I don't mind. But I don't do
    anything on spec.

Do you make any money out of it worth noting?

Not notable. Keeps me in coffee and pepperoni slices.
(I like to snack on them, great with Saltines.)

  • We're into the P&S as well. That and salted, roasted peanuts. Nice snack.

Don't think it's worth getting wrapped up in someone elses wet dream though.
Think I'll pass on that "art outlet".
