What are the average settings for which parameters exactly in trying to recreate lips glossiness that looks like the attached shot besides lighting (the skin/lip settings):
I have put lots of different lights on with different lip settings under "Actor/Wardrobe/Props > Editor" using Glossy Layered Weight, Reflectivity, Glossy Roughness. Can any lip base get you results close to this shot? Or do you need a special character/lip base? I have read up on all these parameters but still cannot yield anything close to this. I know you cant be exact, but can you please point me in the right direction! Thank you!!!

Looking at that shot, I think you're seeing a couple of effects there. One is that there seems to be a layer on top of the lips. I say this because if you look at the bottom lip, the reflection there is very smooth. It doesn't seem to follow the bumps of the lips underneath it. In the real world a lip gloss (over the base coat) might accomplish that. In Iray you might try adding a top coat that is basically all specular reflection and almost no diffuse color.
The other trick there is the lighting. There seems to be a main light from the upper left, but there are clearly some fill / bounce lighting from the lower right as well as directly in front of the model. Since you need a strong specular component, you might try using spotlights for that instead of area / mesh lights.
Finally, this is an area where using Iray canvases could help as you can separate diffuse and specular lighting into their own layers and increase the specular strength in post work. That might save you a lot of rendering time trying to tweak the surfaces.
Edit: I see you asked this same question in another thread before, so Ill delete my repeat here.
