Too many stickies!

This started as a discussion over on the complaint thread but it got me looking at the stickies on this forum. Not only are there so many of them here that they're bumping actual new content off the first page many of them are either out of date or really should be somewhere else.

I've especially noticed a lot of new product or sale announcements and there is a whole separate forum for "Latest News and Offers" that hasn't had anything posted to it since a happy fathers day message back in June.

So here is my breakdown and thoughts on the huge (16) number of stickies in this forum:

Sticky: Trouble-shooting your PC membership - Ok this one needs to be a sticky and probably in several places since it's an ongoing issue.

Moved: DAZ 3D Is Pleased to Announce the Official Release of Carrara 8.5 **Update - 50% off for owners of Carrara extended** - A new product announcement seems like it should be in the other forum and maybe a sticky in the Carrara forum as well.

Sticky: PA Festival - Limited Time Offers - You could make an argument for this one but I think it'd fit in the news and offers thread just as well.

Moved: DAZ Studio Pro 4.6.0.18 General Release, Now Available! - Again news and offers as well as the Studio specific forum would probably be just as good as taking up room here.

Sticky: The 7th Annual DAZ 3D Premier Artist Festival - Day 8 - A second one for the same ongoing sale

Sticky: The Girl 6 Render Thread - I'm not sure why something like this is even a sticky when many of the other product specific render threads aren't.

Sticky: Set the Stage with the Spectacular World of Genesis - Render Thread! - See above

Moved: DAZ Studio Pro BETA (4.6.0.81), Now Available! - Another product announcement, I can see it being sticky in the studio forum and the news and offers forum but does it need to take up space on the first page of this forum?

Sticky: Where are My Download Links - Ok this one I can see being put here and maybe several other places since it seems a lot of people still have trouble figuring out how to get the content they paid for.

Moved: DSON Importer for Poser (1.1.0.18) General Release, Now Available! - Again, why is this in the Commons and not in the studio/poser specific forums as well as the latest news forum

Sticky: DAZ 3D Install Manager v.1.0.1.81 Update - Another one that I'll grant probably needs to be in multiple places considering how may people have issues with DIM.

Sticky: Announcement For Look At My Hair Customers: account registrations open! - Really? A sticky for the beta announcement for a PA product? Why does this one get a sticky in Commons and none of the other PA's product announcements do?

Sticky: Phones and Tickets - This one was posted back in December of last year to explain why support was swamped at that time. The latest post to it is a complaint about website issues. I think this has probably outlived its purpose.

Sticky: Plugin version numbers for DS 4.6 - This one is a perfect candidate for being a sticky here. It's useful information for most of the users of this forum and it's kept up to date.

Sticky: New Documentation Center - Another one that should probably stay though I will say it needs to be updated more frequently. The whole Documentation Center is a different thread though :)

Sticky: Useful resource threads - This one sounds interesting until you look at it...a site for historically accurate clothing and another for color schemes for a Firefox plugin. Nothing added in over a year and not really anything Daz specific there.

Over half of these could be moved elsewhere or just removed outright and that would free up a lot of space on the first page for actual communication between members of the community which is what The Commons is supposed to be about.

I agree, I've never understood the point with stickies at all. I may understand 2 or 3 but not this huge amount. Why not having the rest in a special place instead?
