Hmm... cute Draggy, but the use of Amanita muscaria for the mushroom textures sort of makes me wonder if people know what it is. It seems to be used in many renders and sets for 3D.

I think it is just because they are used in Mario and Smurfs and are very cute.

What Vaskania said plus it's pretty and: no risk, no fun ;-P

Over here in Germany this mushroom is a lucky symbol.

I certainly hope that people don't pick and eat mushrooms when they come across them in real life when they don't know what they are - however I'm pretty sure in digital form they're safe lol

I accept pretty as a good enough reason to use that mushroom. I also accept it could cause seeing the cute little draggies in RL.

Katey- Ok, I'm giving it a go, but it may or may not be more of a pain in the rear depending on which curling you want. Are we talking when a cat's on their side, or when they're more on their butt?

I meant something like a second picture (butt) but if you can test other two it would be awesome :)

Well, the problem is how Squee's body is segmented. It's not even between the tail/lower body, lower body/chest, and chest/lower neck- instead, the base of the tail is joined with the lower body, the lower body extends into the chest, and the base of the neck is part of the chest. This is making it extremely difficult to make any sort of flat laying pose look natural.

If I get the base of the tail and the lower body against the ground, there's an arch between them, but the chest doesn't hit the ground.
I I put the lower body and chest at the ground, his rear is in the air.

This seems to be how dragon's "curl": http://www.chessceramic.com/content/images/thumbs/0001459_lying-down-dragon.jpeg which isn't all that easy with this little guy.

I'm not surprised that he won't pose like a cat - his shape is totally different - big legs and short front arms and standing on 2 feet instead of all 4. I did enjoy working on him so I wouldn't mind doing something more catlike and able to walk on all 4 legs like the larger firebreathing dragons a bit further down the track :)

Well, I gave it a decent shot, at least. lol

I might create some more poses for the little guy and release 'em as freebies, but sorry Katey, curling up won't be one of them (unless you want to pay for me to stay in a psych ward for a while after I go mental from trying to do it LOL).

Thank you :D Your poses were lovely to work with, it took me quite a while to settle on which one I wanted to go with.

Thanks :) I'm still tweaking the material settings a bit - trying to get a more bronzish colouring rather than quite so gold. Love the way he looks almost like he has pebbled skin (ala a gecko) rather than scales, btw. :) I'm happy to share the mat settings if anyone wants them (the parts that don't involve colour tweaking the base textures anyway ;))

Thank you very much for your attempts, Vaskania :) No, there is no need to go to mental ward.

I'll wait for something that sits and curls more cat-like then :) I don't have much use for entirely flying creatures, sorry ^^"

No need to be sorry :) everyone has different ideas on what they want and if its not right then its better not to buy.

I've been humming this to myself for the past two days now, adding more words as they came to me:

    "Squee the little fae dragon
    Lives upon a 'shroom
    And flies about with Florabelle
    In the dusky forest gloom..."

to the tune of puff the magic dragon... obviously. :)

This breaks the limits of tenderness! I don't know is pinch is the appropriate verb to spanish "pellizcar", but those cheeks beg to be pinched. Pippin's cheeks and squees' cheeks toooooo...above all little little yellow squee :P
