Having trouble getting the render to start for certain scenes
I'm having trouble rendering a scene, and this has happened before with a couple other scenes that I was never able to render. When I start the render, it just hangs and shows many instances of this:
"Iray VERBOSE - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.2 IRAY rend progr: CPU: Processing scene..."
And it never progresses beyond that to start the actual render no matter how long I wait. Does this mean my computer just cannot handle the scene I'm trying to render? I know I'm on a very weak system and using cpu... but if this is the case, is there a way to make it work without discarding elements from the scene, like maybe tweaking certain render settings?
(Btw it processes and displays just fine when I view it as Nvidia IRAY in the viewport at full size)

How long did you let it sit at that stage? It takes sometimes several minutes to process especially with the large sets. Next question what is your scene setup, can you make a screen shot or point out products you are using? It sounds like you are trying to do a large set.
Did you try to render a very simple setup like one simple prop and did it work then?
I've let it sit for 2 hours but it never progresses. The scene was 4 characters, minimal clothing and a bedroom environment (which came with many point lights and I also added bright HDRI lighting). I had it set to resolution of 3,840x2160 and the quality set to 3 (under progressive rendering), which must be too high. I removed 1 character and lowered the quality to 1 and was able to get it to work...but the quality didn't come out too great. I tried to post a screenshot but it won't upload/attach the file for some reason.
and btw it works fine with very simple setups but I was referring to having trouble with the particular scene I was working with.
