help with getting morph dials to show?

Hello,

Despite the title, I'm not exactly new to DAZ3D, but I have had a persistent problem for...eh...years now that makes me feel like a newbie. I can only get a few morph dials to show, no matter what body part I select. For some morph sets, a few may show up, but more often than not I only see the translation/rotation etc. (in parameters). This happens regardless of install method, and I have done nothing funny with my folders. I've even gone so far as to completely delete all my content, re-installed DAZ, and installed only the figure and morph pack I was testing. For example, right now I only have G3M essentials and Zev0's ShapeShift installed, and I can only see about 15 out of the 136 morphs.

Is there some kind of hidden setting that could have gotten messed up? Secret code or handshake? This issue has followed my DAZ3D installation across three computers, and several versions of DAZ. I've Googled, experimented, and wasted hours trying to fix this, but nothing has made any difference. If anyone has any suggestions (or can recommend a digital exorcist) I would appreciate it greatly!

Here's the tech info for quick reference: Win7 pro, DAZ3D 4.9 pro (but tried in 4.10 also), most content installed manually with no folder shenanigans, not using smart content, DAZ on C: drive, content on external drive

Thank you

  • Most moprhs are on the figure node (e.g. Genesis 8 Female), not a bone.

  • Thank you for replying! I don't think I've been selecting bones. I've always done things just like the interactive tutorials show, by selecting within the 'scene' tab. And, now I'm confused, because the scene tab header reads 'node,' while each sub-item has a bone icon next to it. Have I done something stupid? Regardless, here are some jpegs to show what I'm doing.

  • Okay, here's an update in case anyone was curious:

I did finally get more morphs to show up in parameters. I don't know if it's all of them, as I haven't counted, but it looks like the majority are there now, at least. Unfortunely, the mystery persists as to why they didn't show in the first place. The morphs finally appeared after resetting the database and reimporting metadata for the THIRD time. I have no clue why it didn't work the first or second time. Third time's the charm, I guess.

Best of luck to anyone else who runs into this issue. You'll need it!
