How do I merge everything into one directory without Daz "loosing" it?

Thanks

Are you on a Mac or a PC.

Merging is simple on a PC, but can be dangerous on a Mac if you are not sure how to do it.

As far as DS is concerned, there is no need to merge the two libraries, it will see them both, as long as they are both listed in the Content Directory Manager.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and see what paths you have listed for BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats. If your second library folder is not listed, add it to both Poser and DS formats, or if you merge the two folders, make sure that the one that you merge into, has been listed.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I'm on a PC.

Both directories are listed in the Content directory manager.

I would like to merge because its a pain to have to check through 2 directories, I will use the one that my install manager is downloading into.

Please explain the procedure for merging.

Since I don't know the names of the folders you have, this will be fairly generic.

The DIM installs to a folder called 'My DAZ 3D Library', so using drag and drop in Windows, drag the contents of the library you want to merge, and drop all of the folders in it, into the My DAZ 3D Library. Windows will give you a warning of course, but just say OK and it will merge all folders with the same name.

Just make sure that you are not creating another folder inside your My DAZ 3D Library that hold all of the other folders, or it wont work. If you are not sure of what to do, please post the paths for both libraries, and I can give you a step by step.

Just a note: if you have made custom categories, be sure to Export User Data before merging the folders so you won't have to redo them. After you have merged the two content folders, reset the database and re-import metadata.
