"World Builder" Ultimate

I'd love to see some software developer come up with this "all-inclusive" landscape building tool: ( Win. 7-10/ 64-bit, DAZ 4-4.10 compatible ). This "all-in-one", self-contained landscape creation software package would allow 3-D artists and animators to select from ( 25 ) different ( -user-selectable and "adjustable" ) topography "presets" ( i.e: mountains, deserts, plains, praries, canyons, etc. ) and allow them to quickly build their landscapes by simply "dragging-and-dropping" various scene elements onto the "topography" preset they've chosen. Each of the ( 25 ) topography "presets" would include a side-pane "archive" of all of the necessary scene element add-ons ( i.e: vegetation, rocks, logs, boulders, etc. ) necessary to complete their chosen landscape ( -including: ( 25 ) selectable vegetation assets ( i.e: 3-D photogrammetry-derived models of plants, i.e:  grass, trees, bushes, flowers, etc. "native" to that particular topography and region ). Users could overlay skydome and weather elements ( i.e: from a dead calm to wind in random or programmed "gusts" at various wind speeds, fog, rain, sleet, snow, hail, etc. ) and choose from ( 25 ) different "skydomes" ( i.e: clear bue sky, partly cloudy, overcast, stormy, etc. ) to cap their landscape scenes. An "all-inclusive" full-function landscape-building software that doesn't require you to bring in outside "assets" or plug-ins to create an endless variety of landscape scenes is long overdue. Currently, "Carrera 8.5" and "Bryce" are about as close as you can get to this and they fall far short of this quick "drag-and-drop" simplicity and productivity. It amazes me that this doesn't already exist! Don't software developers realize that simplicity and "time-saving" productivity are important to both amateur and professional 3-D artists and animators? Looking through DAZ's "Shop" categories it's truly depressing to see how limited their "landscape" scene options are. I only see very limited, specific landscapes ( -that I'll only use once or twice before abandoining them ). I'd much rather buy just ONE landscape creation tool that I can use "over-and-over again" to create whatever outdoor scene I want ( -as opposed to wasting my money on "one-time use" landscape scenes ). While such a software would undoubtedly require hefty storage capacity ( -to store all of it's "topo" and "vegatation" archives ), it would quickly pay for itself and undoubtedly become the 3-D Artist's "Go-To" landscape creation tool ( -because it would contain everything you need and offer lightening fast productivity! ). It's built-in "topo" and "vegetation" presets would vastly speed-up scene creation for those who don't want to spend all their time modeling ( or )  "go broke" buying limited scene (or ) asset plug-ins. This software could handle virtually ALL of your landscape/ weather creation needs in one tidy package. WILL SOME FORWARD-THINKING SOFTWARE DEVELOPER PLEASE CREATE THIS !!!

    LOL

have you tried it yet? it's been on my radar, but I haven't bit the bullet yet, especially since it has very limited import/export features.

  • Isn't that just Bryce?

  • Terradome 3 is as close as you're presently going to get.

A lot of expansions, with terrain typically able to be shaping-morphed. It's a relatively simple matter to add whichever Iray skies you might require. For more specialist necessities, The Philosopher's store has some truly stunning landscape kits.

The only obvious environment we're lacking is an Iray-compatible large-scale swamp (the kind of size where entire castles could be placed into or armies of the undead depicted rising out of). If Sickleyield creates an emissive version of her fog effects for 'magial winds', it could be just as useful for fantasy worlds as horror-themed renders.
