Inked - Moveable?

I've got several of Shanasoulmate's Inked products, but until now haven't gotten around to using them. I'm playing around with a sleeve. In this case Vol. 15 Tattoo 23. But by default it appears on the right arm and I have a preference for the left. But I'm unaware of any easy flip and there doesn't seem to be a mirror of the tat in the package or anything.

On the surface, it feels like it should be something easily accomplished. But if so I'm at a loss for just what button I need to push - and there are so very many buttons in Daz. I have a high threshold of frustration and a lot of free time, but when I just feel like I'm wasting it I tend to go on to other things and abandon whatever I'm working on with Daz, sometimes for weeks or longer. I don't like doing that when I feel like I'm on the cusp of getting what I want.

Any suggestions?

I don't have the product, but it looks like it uses the Layered Image Editor to place the tattoos. So you'd probably need to check the file list to see where the textures are stored, then check out this video:

You don't need to watch the whole video, the first part is about using GIMP to import tattoos or something.

If it uses LIE (and all of Shana's Soulmate's stuff does, as far as I know), you can do this entirely within Studio itself. You can go into the Layered Image Editor, then flip the image either horizontally or vertically (assuming G3 or G8).

    Apply the preset.

Once it's applied and visible (can take a minute or thereabouts), click the little black arrow next to the spot where the image for the body part you want to work with is. (There's a wee tiny black arrow on the bottom right corner of the little image square on the Diffuse Color slider.) A menu with wee tiny type will appear. The fourth option down will be Layered Image Editor -- select that one.

The Layered Image Editor will then appear.

(For whatever reason, Daz has never updated this page, but the Layered Image Editor hasn't changed a lot since the Artzone days, so this is still reasonably accurate about the options you'll see: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/software/lie/reference/lie_overview)

I strongly suggest that you pick "Zoom to Fit" first thing. This will change the view so that you're seeing the entire texture island, instead of just the upper left corner.

After that, you can pick the "Flip" option (horizontally or Vertically) that you want. The layered image will flip to the other side of the texture (takes a minute or thereabouts), and if what you see is what you want, pick accept and then it's done for the Diffuse. Otherwise, you may need to pick Cancel, which will close the LI Editor, and then you'll need to do the above steps again to reopen it.

For textures you mean to use in Iray, you'll need to do this again on the Translucency Color image slider -- LIE applies to both Diffuse and Translucency.

    Hope this is helpful.
