Introduction and 1st Impressions

Hello I'm a new user to the more techincal side of 3D animation. yes

I'm looking forward to taking charge in a direction more visually pleasing an asethetic of being cinematic and also both challenging with intricate and detailed enterainment value I hope to achieve my goal by reaching an audience of diverse and various backrground and intrest. I want to use Daz to acheive my goal by first getting an understanding of the software and it's feature. My speciality is the abitlity to echance both dialouge and motive behind a cinematic take. Not only through intrensic atmopsheric rhetoric but also subtle underlining reflectings of the overall tone of the theme.angry

This is my first time using the software and would like like to highlight and document key milestone along my adventure. devil

Any sorta guideance, tutilage, advice, links. suggestions would be helpful in the comments below thanks! cool

  • Welcome!  My advice is to jump in and start trying things out and as you get stuck or have questions check the forums.  There is a lot of things to learn, both 3d things and DAZ-verse things, so be prepared to learn new terms and ways of thinking.  Also, it takes a lot of practice to get great renders so don't be discouraged if your first renders aren't as amazing as things you see in promo images or the galleries.  The forums here are very helpful so if you have difficulties or wonder how something is done you can usually get some great advice.  Also, check out the new user render contest forum, there are many great threads to read through and see how to improve renders.

You mention animation, I would suggest looking at Ivy's 'Art & Animations' thread here in the forums......

Welcome!  I totally second the recommendation of checking out the new user render contest forum.  It will shorten your learning curve exponentially.  Another great way to keep track of your progress and get some good feedback is to start your own thread in the art studio, you can post milestones or post a render a day, (or more, its your thread lol) you can ask for general advice or ask for specific advice on a specific piece.

  • Most definitely, if you're new to DAZ Studio and want to learn how to use the software, be sure to read this thread:

Studio doesn't have... uh, shall we say, the most comprehensive user manual in the stratosphere. Tricks and tips threads like this one will help you avoid many headaches.
