I have it, not that close and very resource intensive (design decisions and techniques). I almost returned it, but a few bits I found useful once I retextured it and reduced the texture sizes.
Yeah, the PA does a lot of development for the larger CG community which includes lots of design techniques and decisions that are not really suited for DS and this community. Lots of it overkill that will tax moderate systems.
Here is a texture overview of the complete clothing system loaded without a figure and how many textures are used. Most textures are 4K with lots of redundant ones that could have been handled differently and more efficiently. Now add a detailed figure, hair and an environment...you get the picture, LOL
The mesh is nice though. You can try it out for yourself and then return it if it doesn't work for you.
Genesis 1 or lower does. Odd that Genesis 2 and higher don't (or at least, not as down to Earth, as the closest analogues border on near-science fiction).

I don't really know if it's what you're looking for, but it's on my wishlist. It's currently 70% off, so maybe it could be kit-bashed?
I tried looking for similar gear about a few months ago, but all i got were the "artistic" outfits that you see on the site. But what I want is the MOLLE style gear, ACH/MICH helmet and the combat uniform that has the pants worn unbloused with integrated kneepads and the shirt that has camo/thicker material on the sleeves but softer/thinner material on the chest. Just like the one you linked in your second picture.
Did you want this for Daz or did you want it for Blender/Maya/3DSM or something? some people recommended some games to me that i could extract the models from. The models for them are pretty readily available online. You can very easily get them into Blender and posed right away however you want. To get it working in Daz3ds or onto a Daz figure is going to need a bit of work though. Here are some pics of some of the models i managed to find.

I like the female version for a halloween costume or a stylized pinup or something of that sort but not serious battle scenes. Unless the goal is to make the enemy stop and stare while the rest of your team gets into position to take them out, I guess. But by and large that seems like a risky strategy.

These are both good for general purpose military use. The Army Uniform is close to current BDU/ACU design, with some random weirdness, mostly in the form of pockets a real uniform doesn't have. It does have a lot of adjustment options and the female version isn't sexified, which is a nice plus. The female version also conforms to a bustier body type rather well, with minimal need for adjustments.
The Soldier 2.0 is very poorly suited to kitbashing and each peice is meant to be used with the rest of the set. For instance, the pants are shaped as if the kneepads are always going to be included, so if you won't want the kneepads, they look really weird. The only real problem (YMMV) with the set are the textures/shaders. There are no iray mats, near as I can tell and reskinning it with different shaders will lose a lot of details unless you replace the normal maps, which eliminates tiling, if that's necessary for the shaders you apply. Again, the female version is solid and non-sexified, so there's that plus, but the shirt does tend to tuck under larger breasts. If you put the body armour over, that's no big deal, but otherwise it can take a lot of work to undo.
I know this is a month late but adding it in case somebody does a search wanting military/swat style uniforms. Only thing i dislike about it is the kneepad looks super generic. It also doesnt have the chinstrap for the helmet but thats just a minor thing. I like everything else about it though--the helmet is of the ACH/MICH style worn my most militaries and swat. I think the rifle comes with it too and he used an actual M4A1 with a rail system, foregrip and a sight instead of something made up or an "artistic" looking gun. They even included a camelbak hydration system and a nice pair of sunglasses.

I could not find the ICE expansion packs in the store though I have them in my library.
ICE pack one had the rest of the equipment ( Backpack, loadcarrying gear, hydration system, kneepads, etc)

Mods i'm sorry for necro'ing this thread just to post that, but i'm just happy to finally see a somewhat authentic looking military outfit. It even has the unbloused pants AND the right type of vest i was looking for to go with the uniform. I only saw Darkedgedesigns name on the male product, but i'm guessing that they also made the female one and the accessories one.
I don't really think the modern military outfit looks all that great. It looks thin and made in marvelous designer and the fabric looks like plastic. It has nice components but I don't think it looks realistic personally,.
By realistic i was talking more of its resemblance to what is worn irl. The pockets do look kinda weird but to me the textures seem to be on par with the other tactical type outfits. If this were slooty warrior outfit with heels #340503 i'd probably complain. But with such a small selection of tactical outfits i'm not gonna nitpick that much.
It's certainly usable. It's believable/passable without being too authentic or specific. And versatile enough for a number of branches, settings, and organizations/countries.
Now for dress and mess uniforms!
