David AND Horo, New Bryce Vegetation product missing files?

David and/or Horo,
I recently purchased your new Bryce Vegetation product from the Daz store. Briefly looked it over. Some interesting techniques there.
Unfortunately it appears that the 4 files contained in MaterialsLib and the folder itself are completely missing from the downloaded .zip
file. Same problem on manual or DIM installs. Since you are the authors I thought that you might get a faster response from DAZ and locate the problem better than I could from customer service.

OK so in theory, you should have seven installers for this. And the material files are in installer number 2 @236 mb.

    p48_Bark.mat
    p48_DistantVegetation.mat
    p48_PlantLeaf.mat
    p48_PlantWood.mat

also included in this installer is

    P48_veg_RTR_rosenpass_eg.mp4
    RTR_rosenpass_eg.bmp
    RTR_rosenpass_eg.br7

So if you are missing this install you should have none of these files? Since the first thing is to establish what you are missing. So is that right? These are the files you are missing?

I also have the same missing files. Yes to answer your question above. I put in a support ticket for it yesterday, the midnight hours your time. It's now 9 AM DAZ time so maybe they will be on it soon. There has been plenty to keep me busy as it is. Got through the videos once for the overview (well I thought I did - there appears to be one more) and will begin working with it as soon as I get the rest of the package. Thanks for a package that has greatly exceeded my expectations.

Ah... thanks for the feedback. Well, this seems to be a missing installer issue. Horo sent me the packets that were given to DAZ 3D, so something must have got lost in translation. Hopefully they will pull their fingers out and fix this. Please keep us posted because if the delay becomes unreasonable we can start the nagging on your behalf.

I bought the "Vegetations Package" today and have the same problem. I am afraid, the mat files are missing.

Also, the missing video covers the use of the RTR file which lets you blend your 3D content into the HDRI background supplied. This is a faster method than shadow capture since it does not involve invisible planes.

So... the logs, the sphere and the red leaved plants apparently cast shadows into the HDRI backdrop. But in fact the shadows are falling on a carefully mapped cube. If you are curious how this mapping is achieved you can find out more here... However, be aware, it is an advanced technique http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ASbkuNq4LA which is why I intend to supply at least one RTR file with all of Horo's HDRI from this point on. That's why you got one here. Or rather you didn't. Sorry. But you will hopefully soon!

Oh dear. I will let Horo start the nagging first since he was kind enough to take the burden of uploading the product to DAZ 3D. Then I will poke my oar in if progress is not made.

And apologies for the inconvenience on both our behalves.

David, thank you for the quick reply. At least I am thankful, that someone takes care. Chohole and Horo thank you, too.

David, Horo and chohole - Thank you for the efforts you are making. Interesting that this is all coming from the other side of the world. Maybe DAZ should move.

Still downloading - it's a bit fluctuating between 25 minutes and 2 hours is the prediction.

Ok, I can confirm that there are 7 files missing in the product: all the material libraries and David's RTR (ready to render) scene with the video that goes with it. This is one of seven packed files uploaded that was omitted to be included.

I have added a comment for this product in PASS and emailed our PA representative.

Let's hope this issue can be resolved in a very short time. Meanwhile, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may cause to you.

@Thank you Horo for the clarification and the apologies although it is not your nor Davids fault. And anyway for me it is not too bad, there is enough to watch in this great vegetations package. (I have already watched your tutorial of the tree lab and started to create a tree scene.)

    David and Horo,

For some reason my first reply got lost. As you have already discovered I am missing all 7 files. There was only one installer .zip file of
1.22 GB. Thanks for the prompt response. You guys should be running DAZ customer service!!. Eagerly awaiting the fix. Again thanks.

@DRKirk - yes, only one 1.22 GB file. When I saw this, I knew that something was amiss. We have to submit a product in chunks not exceeding 250 MB; we had 7 of those and one was not included. I hope DAZ 3D will make just that missing part available as part 2 so that you don't have to download 1-1/2 GB again.

Ugh. One file 1.22gb. I do wish that DAZ 3D would accept that some people have still got less than optimum Broadband connections and split downloads like this into sections. At the moment I, for instance, only have a 500kb/s connection and am really lucky if I get a download speed exceeding 200kb/s.

That's why we had to limit the files to 250 MB because that was considered a limit for slower connections - in the rural US there's still the 56 kb/s modem limit. Meanwhile, there is that Installer and now they pack everything into one file. Even with a fast connection, overseas limits the speed and the bandwidth DAZ 3D has got has also a limit - though it is much better as it used to be.

Well, where I am we are in one top 20 list, unfortunately that is for the top worst broadband areas in the UK, and we come in at number 12. LOL

The missing files have been added to the now over 1.4 gig file. It took me two attempts to get it and I supposedly have good internet. David, Horo, Chohole, thank you for your help in getting this resolved.

@Dino Gramps - thanks, yes, I've noticed just now.

@Trish - It's a picture library. You can put it anywhere on your computer, provided you find it also later on. It is covered in General:Videos\2_Obj-Mat-Lib.

The Vegetation product should be updated in your My Library. It is 1.45 GB and contains all files. I've just downloaded it and checked it against what we had submitted.
