log files
I'm using DS 4.5.1.56 PRO. DLd a very nice set of floor tiles and when I tried to use them, I found several references to directory calls that were incorrect. I was able to correct them, but when opening the .duf files to load the figures, I get an error message (see attached) that refers to a "log file". So the only way, at this point, that I can use these items is to import the obj file and then apply the textures. I looked in the DAZ root directory as well as the other directories, but cannot find a "log" file. Clearly I'd rather not be doing the import-apply routine, but I cannot find any "log files". What am I overlooking?

I've seen that "bug" and reported it, a very recursive log entry.
The main problem with people creating .dufs for sharing is that they forget to also ship the stuff in data that contains the .dsf file and some helper info.
Okey dokey. Con muchos thankos.
If you ever want to look at the log file for anything else, you can get to it while DS is running from the menu from
Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File
Once that file is open in Wordpad, it might be helpful to use Wordpad's File > Save As to open the folder log.txt is in and drag a shortcut to your Windows desktop for later reference. On my Windows XP system, that file is currently at
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\DAZ 3D\Studio4\log.txt
Note that when DS logs stuff to that file, those file writes aren't always completed right away and might wait until DS is exited or something happens to flush the buffer, so you might not see what you are looking for without exiting DS before looking at the file.
Also the opposite can happen, if something happens to completely fill the log file that makes it too large, the log file might be erased to 0 bytes (either on exit or on restart, I forget which); I've seen that once or twice in the past.
Excellent. I'll give it a whirl.
Sorry, misread your post, I though you had the classic error where the log file says "See logfile for more information".
