Hello!

Currently I am learning modeling, trying to make some clothes and morphs for Genesis. Just for fun :-)

Now I was looking around in the store and I discovered this product: http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-basic-clothing-rig-kit

And I have no idea what this is good for. Do I need this when I model clothes? Btw., I use Hexagon for modeling.

Please enlighten me. Thank you!

It provides several alternative rigs - instead of legs, there are skirts with handles and you can use them as the source, instead of Genesis, when you want to rig your model. The idea is to be further along towards the desired rig when working with skirts and robes than you would be using Genesis as the source figure.

Thanks for the explanation. It is a bit clearer now, but not 100%, so please let me ask more about the workflow.

So, I model a long skirt in Hexagon, as usual. And when I bring it back to DAZ Studio, I do not use Genesis as source with the transfer utility, but these items. Right?
Is this all, or is there more to do? Because I still want my skirt to fit Genesis.

Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but I am still learning all this stuff :-)

Yes, you use the figure that most closely matches what you want the skirt to do - and the rest of the body will get Genesis weighting, and joint centres, so it will conform.
