Come on lol 4.6.0.18 barely has dust on it.
I am having a huge issue with the latest version of studio. I got the DIM which I don't care for but I guess it did what it had to. I like having more control of my installs. I can't seem to be able to increase the size of the Perspective View Port.
Do you mean the size on the screen, or the camera controls?
More specifically the panes.
The side panes can be clicked closed, other than that they can only be shrunk down so far. The general release is the same way.
submitted a bug in Mantis in July that I no longer have access to, I submitted the bug to ZenDesk in August, then September came and the person looking at the bug asked me to submit a bug and I reminded them this was the bug submission but I have not heard back on any status of this. Another user recently PM'ed me with the same problem and asked for my help.

I THOUGHT this was gold but apparently there is some new bug. The DAZ Content Management Service keeps turning itself off. So when I'm trying to save out my clothing creations there are options to assign it to a figure nor options to label internally as a specific clothing item. Worked fine earlier today but since I've gotten back from the gym I've been trying to trouble shoot this. I even went directly into the Windows Services module and in the DAZContentManagementService recovery tab assigned the First, Second and Third Failure options to "Restart the Service" but nothing is working. SO I'm at a loss as to what's happened here.
Just checked with the stable full release of DAZ Studio 4.6, same issue. This is not cool!
HELP?
1) If you haven't exported user data recently, do that first, so you can restore the categories that are still working.
2) Close DS and uninstall CMS.
3) Reinstall CMS by running the installer in C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1\cms (if you have DIM installed) or by reinstalling DS. That will give you the latest CMS, which will reduce the chances of the problem recurring.
4) Search for the file ContentDB.ind -- if you let CMS install to the default locations it will probably be in Program Files (x86) or ProgramData. I would search your entire hard drive with "Hidden and System Files" visible, in case you have more than one set of databases, which could also cause problems. That file is the index for the database.
5) Stop CMS and delete ContentDB.ind, then start CMS and launch DS. Let DS rebuild the index -- it might take a minute or two.
6) Scan for new content and categorize it.
7) Close and restart DS, and see if the categorized items are staying. If they are, you should be good to go.
8) If newly-categorized items are still disappearing, close DS, stop CMS, and delete all the files in the databases folder. Restart CMS, launch DS, and re-import metadata to get your user data back. It can take a long time, so don't panic if it seems to be taking a long time and the progress bar isn't moving.
Thanks. Just exported the User Data but it's not giving me an option to where I want it saved. Where is it saved out to?
Library\Runtime\Support\Userdata_1.dsx (mine had the _1, not sure if they always do).
Thanks. WOW. Did this full conversion of a product named Carnie for Deecey today (Dawn product) Cataloged it before leaving for the gym and it's not even listed so there is def something up.
Nothing is working. There is no ContentDB.ind that the system can find. I tried have it reimport the data and at least the categories were there before now it's just a blank pane. WOW, when things go rotten with this damned program they really go rotten. THIS SUCKS!
When you reimport your metadata, and have userdata checked, make sure you also check 'user data overrides somesuch whatever' at the bottom of the window, otherwise the default metadata/categories will override yours.
As for the missing ContentDB.ind file, go to C:\ProgramData\Daz 3D and open up dzInstall.ini. This file should have a Databasepath line that has your CMS installation path, which is the location that file should be in along with 4 or 5 other files. ProgramData by default is hidden, so you'll have to enable hidden files/folders. This is for Win 7, btw.

The Release Candidate stage is not the time to be making changes that have the potential to introduce instability. There will be no more features added to this build before it transitions to General Release. The focus at this point is stability. Please submit any bugs through the Zendesk ticketing system. Please also submit any feature requests through the Zendesk ticketing system and we will consider them for a future build. Understand that this is not a promise that a feature will or will not be implemented, only that we will consider them (and weigh them against all of the other requests we receive, along with our own) once we've reached General Release with this development cycle.

DAZ hasn't updated the Powerpose feature since DAZ 3! As a company, they've sat back and coasted on a feature that is growing in use as poseing Genesis and G2F and I'm sure future versions grow more complicated with each generation. Sitting back and letting others fix the shortcomings in provided features is an embarrassment to the users and the company making it.
Scour the forum then do the same to the internet and look at who is talking about it and who is using the feature and who is making the fixes let alone showing people how to use the feature with video's!
Is this the business model DAZ has chosen? Let others fix and update their products for and to the company's benefit?
When you see all those behind the scene's video's of companies making CG movies. They have their own versions of Powerpose for their programs. A good example: Sit back and watch Epic's behind the scenes video's, they used 3Delight to make the movie and had their own version of Powerpose to refine the characters movements.
It's an invaluable feature and tool that needs to be updated.
Its been asked for since DAZ4 and Genesis first came out. Asking to post in a request or trouble request is lame at best.
The people have spoken for months if not years and no one but fellow DAZ Studio users are listening.
I haven't been able to use CMS for over a year. I've long since given up trying to figure out why and tried almost every variant of method to fix including the ones they just suggested.
I've used CCleaner and System Mechanic (dont use the registry cleaner or registry defrag is will kill DAZ Studio from ever running again!) It's an issue I've address with the System Mechanic folks and the next update should have that fixed. (Your welcome DAZ.)
I have messages upon messages from System Mechanic indicating CMS has been terminated or shutdown during the start up of DAZ Studio.
Since I loaded the System Mechanic a few months ago to monitor and keep my computer clean and running I've had an ongoing problem but this time with a paper trail so to speak.
98 starts of DAZ Studio...98 DAZContentManagementService terminations.
Keep in mind I've had this issue for over a year.
Well supposedly there is a fix coming with the next beta. You do know there is a Pubic FINAL release of DAZ Studio 4.6.1.17
CMS is now working for me but the ERC Freeze is botched and I can't save out my rig adjusted morphs so I'm kinda stuck there but yea, that's got a fix on the way. Hope it's a good one.
How I got CMS to work was a bit of a hassle. I found that if I had two instances of DAZ Studio on board CMS would not run. So I elimintated BOTH the final and beta versions and then rebooted and then installed the 4.6.1.17 and CMS works fine now. So I swore off being tempted with having a final and a beta version of DS on the system ever again.
I'm running the new copy. I like the boot image better than the girl and the creepy monster bit.
I have only one copy of DAZ running on each of my two computers. One computer CMS works and the other it doesn't work and bother are dang near mirror images of each other in system layout. as for file locations and content. Exact. both on an E drive. both DAZ Studio programs on C drive according the presets as set by the installers. I tried working outside the box and still got nothing. tried moveing the CMS folder. tried deleting it and all incarnations and .db files from the entire computer. wiped all reference of DAZ and CMS from the registry.
and still nada for one of the two systems. guess it just wasn't meant to be. Hoped the Beta would do it for me. but nope.
