I want to make an anime character into a real character with m4. Not Hiro. M4. I don't want him to be anime-ish.
But I'm just not quite sure what to do...
does anyone have any tips?
i have added an attached image of who i want to convert.
edit:
also is there any hair like that...?

As a huge anime fan myself I sympathize with your problem. Hiro is obviously intended as an "anime" character but it's not a conception that I can relate to as I don't know of any anime in which the characters look like that at all. I think Takeo for H5 is the closest and I've used him a few times in anime related renders. However, I tend to use Michael of David based figures mostly (I only use Genesis, however).
To me the problem is that anime is not a 3D medium—it's very much 2D. 3D is used in Japanese games, certainly (e.g. Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) and there is a definite influence there from manga and anime, but I consider it a separate genre. The figures in these games are more like Japanese ball jointed dolls than anything in anime.
I think we really have to make our own conceptions as there isn't much to base them on. I tend to use an exaggerated pseudo-realism and M4 is a good enough place to start. I find D5 a good starting point, but that is a Genesis figure.
As for hairs, I think you simply have to look through what is available and make your own decisions (the "anime" hair, Austin, that was created for H4 is simply bizarre and unusable in my opinion, and I have no idea where its concept is coming from). The hair in your picture is very nice, but I can't think of an equivalent—the closest I can think of is the Pure Hair: Punk for Genesis (which I think is very nice indeed), but that is shaved on one side and swept over.
I've got a small collection of anime inspired renders in my deviantArt account which might be of interest (the Punk hair is used on the character "Rex," by the way), but I tend not to do very much of this kind of work because of the issues I've described.
Get some good side and front views of the character you want and use the photos as a background in DS (edit > backdrop), or Poser (file > import > background picture). I'm not sure how well things will line up, but it will give you something to morph against using M4's sliders so you can get the proportions, or at least close to.
I want someone like this for genesis or, in a future, for G2M

You *might* be able to tweak Nata a bit and get that.

He is in a store, so I can't show here the principal difference with nata. But you idea is very good: nata+hitomi+asobi heads and hiro 5 body translated in G2F to obtain a beauty smile and not a deformed lips.
