Merlin's PA Sale 2013

It's time to kick off my PA Sale with a new series: The Ruins of Angkor Wat. A temple entrance way long forgotten by humans, now, slowly being reclaimed by nature. Huge palm roots creep up the walls like fingers, slowly smothering the ancient structure...

Ooh this looks cool. Instant purchase. Series... does that mean there will be more ruins?

It does, the ruins were too extensive for just one set, working on the temple interior now :)

Nice — I thought I could see little bits of something around the edges of a couple of the promos. Right into the cart it goes.

Very nice, looking forward to more in this series - could also double up as some Acheronian ruins in some Hyborian themed fantasy art :-)

Here's a completely untouched render using the included scene file, all I've done is use my own camera angle, added depth-of-field and applied a bit of lateral movement to the god rays so that they'd be a wee bit softer by applying a bit of motion blur in render...

Well, you know me - can't leave a good thing alone - here's reduced res copy of above render after a wee tweak in post...

Nice shot Jabba! The sharpness is interesting in the second one, but I like the color and less bloom of the first one.

Cheers, I did the second one as a wallpaper - I fancied something a bit warmer and dark corners that could be hiding all sorts in them.

I thought I'd have a play around with a few of the models in my store, inspired by Jabba101 :)

And the great DAZ Sale enters the final day...

There once was a fabled Daz sale,
props were sought like the knights seek the grail
it went on and on and on and on,
till we all ended up drinking ale!

    Merlin :)

Gorgeous work, lucky you stayed off the ale long enough to put the scene together.

What can I say, I couldn't resist, went ahead and got a couple more of your beautiful models including that amazing windmill. Keep this up and I'll have a village of my own! :)

...thank you. Save for a low intensity point light by their faces and a bit of after effects, the main lighting is what included with the set.

This fits in so well with my story.

No problem, it's a beautiful render. Are there any more pictures in the story?

...actually quite a few over on my DA gallery (in the "Leela" folder). I also have a WIP thread over on the Art Studio Forum (sorely needing an update) titled the RIS files.
