About weight map

First of all, I apologize for my English.

Can I make the simulation of the breast using dforce? I've seen someone do something like that, but I can't do the same. I don't understand how to set up a weight map so that only a certain part of the body is processed during the simulation.

  • The steps are not obvious - quite well hidden.

First you need to use 'Add Dforce Modifier: Dynamic Surface' to the object you want to simulate - it's in the waffle menu (button with four lines and a triangle) for the Simulation pane.

Then you have to add a 'dForce Modifier Weight Mode' to the object: this is mysteriously hidden under the Create menu.  Specify a name when prompted and the node will appear in the Scene tab as a 'child' of the object.

Next, activate the Node Weight Map Brush tool.  You should now have 'dForce Simulation Influence Weights' listed as an available  'unused map': select this and click the Add Map button.  The surface will be colored red in the viewport if you have the dForce Modifier Weight Node selected in the Scene tab.

The red color means 100% affected by the dForce simulation.  You need to use the weight map brush to lower the 'weight' - it will show as blue (or grey) for a weight of 0%, and shades of purple for weights between 0 and 100%.

You may need more explanation for some of these steps.

The attached image shows a subdivided plane draped over a sphere.  I reduced the weight of one corner of the plane to zero, so it remains unaffected by dForce.
