Well, I am on the marketing team, I was part of the meeting where this was decided, and If you've been in the forums with any consistency for the past month I'm sure you've seen me post. I guess my point is that we do have someone in marketing in the forums, and that someone is me.

They're giving away M4/V4 pro bundles. Not a huge surprise, how many people purchased the pro bundle of M4/V4 in the last 6 months? Last year even.
I could see being upset if they were giving away Genesis or V5/M5 bundles.
Seriously, I have zero interest in M4 so I've never picked up the bundle. The only reason I have V4 is because early on I purchased several things that required the V4++ morph packs. If I find 3 things I feel I can justify purchasing while this is going on I'll probably toss the M4 Pro bundle in since I can get it for free but otherwise I'd never even bother looking at it.
Thanks for quick reply Jared. OK after a strong coffee and my eyes focusing I see its the 4th Generation that is being offered Free. I thought it was M5/V5, phew.
You are most responsive - however I assumed you were heading technical implementation of the store. I appreciate your excellent communication and active presence here. Communication has been great this year. Regarding my concern of making premium products, free - is shared by many hardcore DAZ customers. Its hard to imagine how a business can operate in the long term by having marketing consume its inventory. When DS was priced to Free - it took quite some time to rebuild confidence (with successive releases) to convince me it was not abandonment nor unsuitable for serious work. Understanding that the business model was about the proprietary aspects of the genesis figure and selling content - got concerned when I thought the main Male Figure (M5, not M4) was being given away before M6 appears.
Applogize for the alarm but I ve become just a bit gun shy about DAZ marketing announcements - but it must be nice to have customers with overwhelming concern for the viability of the firm. R/ Pete

I have bought quite costly software that was later given away and better pro versions than standard ones I had.
but I had since spent even more on upgraded versions that no doubt one day too will be too.
iClone 3 then later 4 being one that comes to mind recently.
I have gotten lots of stuff free too that others paid top dollar for, the luck and timing!
I'm glad you feel that communication has been better. That is one of my primary responsibilities at DAZ. I do appreciate your concern. Most of our customers, especially the long time customers have a great sense of loyalty. That is something that everyone at DAZ appreciates.
It's not completely free, since you have to buy 2 or 3 products (on sale) in order to use the coupon, but it IS an incredibly good deal. And one I took advantage of myself. I started with DAZ in the 5th gen so I never actually got M4. I always used M5 or other Genesis figures for my males. It's unlikely that I would buy M4 outright so this sale was very welcome, and hopefully benefited DAZ by increasing their sales, too. My thanks to the Marketing team for coming up with this one.
It's rare to see someone complain about getting free stuff so vehemently, though.
This is a great business model. Think about it. How many Michael assets was I buying a month ago? Answer: ZERO. How many will I be buying now that I just got M4 for free? Answer: Probably a ton.
Agreed - I based my comments thinking it was the Generation 5 - before G6 was fully released. My bad there.
Where is this emotion coming from? Peeps that purchased DS for 299 or more are the ones who may understand my concern best. Indecently DAZ was more than generous for compensating many of those folks and myself. The ultimate concern was (is) for the long-term viability, not in as much as getting a better deal on today's sale.
No worries - although I wish we could change the title of threads sometimes when I fly off the handle in reaction. Got to remember to aim first... and lift the seat! :red:

Absolutely. Picked up the M4 Pro Bundle with a few other small items, paid all of ten dollars (had some store credit, though). Fantastic deal, especially for the... appendage. ;)
I've already purchased most of the items I've wanted along the way, but I am glad to see a good deal promoted for the V4/M4. I use Genesis 1 and love to mix and match the gen 3 and 4 items, and I am open to getting more of that generation with great deals.
