Black dot under my items

This software entertains me to no end!
All of a sudden all my loaded items have a strange black and white dot underneath it.
I can move the dot seperately from the item but when I delete the item, the dot dissapears as well...
LOL what did I do this time :D
And because I am sneeky, I am going to squish in another question ><<br />
I have been asking this about a year ago already I think, but I just went through all my forum posts and couldn't find it back...
Whenever I go with my mouse over my stage it selects the item in bright orange and that is annoying to work with for me.
So how can I take care of that?
Thanks for your time ^^

You have the aniMate2 view tool active. Change your active tool (Main Menu Bar > Tools) and it will go away.

Oh, indeed I have!
Thanks!
And I found a solution to my selection problem:

Here is another cool DS thing not many know. Select a Prop or Figure from your Content view. HOLD the mouse button and the Windows ALT key as you move your pointer into the Viewport. You will get a Red Yellow Load target for the item on the default world grid. The item will load to the target location.
Woah, that is quite useful!
Especially with huge scenes where you sometimes have to move stuff a long distance.
Thanks Jaderail :D
Best tip of the year, this is saving me so much time!!!
To stop the view-port from highlighting the item the cursor is over you can turn off object selection in the scene window.
The columns with the heading "S" means the object is select-able. toggle it off and you won't get the highlight anymore. You also won't be able to select it in the view-port anymore, but you can still select it in the scene window.
There may be a more elegant way to do it, but this is how I do it.
Here is turning Highlight off and Still have selecting as active. With the Basic Tool on (pointer) Open Windows>Panes (Tabs)>Tool Settings and change Draw Style to Bounding box only... like below.
Thanks a million, I found it and my scene is now a nice peaceful place to work again :D
