moving my content to new pc

Hi all,

Ive set up a new pc and Ive copied all my saved files (my library/saved files/etc) into to a new pc but the only files visible are some ive created on the new pc. all the transferred files arent showing in the content tab? Any help with why that happens wouldbe appreciated!

Where in the "content tab", and which - Content Library pane, Smart Content pane, or do you mean a Presets tab in one of the property panes? You should see any daz Studio files in the Content Library pane under Daz Studio Formats>content diectory you used, but if you want your files and installed content from the old machine to show up in database-driven views (Smart Content, the presets tabs, and categories and Products in the Content Library pane) then you need to bring the metadata over, either by transfering the database (not a good diea since you already have entries on the new machine) or by exporting metadata on the old machine, copying that over, and reimporting metadata on the new.

On the old machine

1. Open the Content Library pane option menu - the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab
2. Content DB Maintenance
3. Check Export User data and click Accept
4. The files will be added, as .dsx format, in the /Runtime/Support folder of your first content directory - copy those

On the new machine

1. place the copied .dsx files in the Runtime/Support folder
2. Open the Content Library pane option menu - the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab
3. Content DB Maintenance
4. Check Re-Import Metadata and click Accept
5. In the next dialogue check User data and optionally check the product list (there's a master check-box to select all) then click Accept.

That sounds like what I was looking for... I was trying to copy my saved files (scenes, poses, etc) to a new machine but the copied files did not show up  In the content library. Sending the metas.as well makes sense
