Provence Is Giving Me Hair Materials- Not A Set

Hasn't anyone else bought Provence?
I selected it, opened it in Content Library with nothing selected in the scene, and am getting hair materials and a skull cap! It says ZAC
Screenshot coming.

the manual d/l file ds and ps seems to be okay.
I downloaded it manually. Did the extract file, etc. This is weird. I'm headed out the door for a few hours but I'll reinstall it and see what gives. It was extracted, then moved to MyLibrary, same as usual, and is showing up in Content Library, as pictured. Weird.
Okay, I just uninstalled, double checked by going into C drive and into MyLibrary, doing a search, elminating all files, re-downloaded and re-installed and am getting the exact same garbage. IT ISNT WORKING.
Support ticket.
Obviously, but I want to know if anyone else is getting these results- is it widespread?
Haven't heard of any one else having problems, and there are renders of the set already appearing.
DId you clear your cache before redonwloading?
Also if you are donwloading manually you should be able to check the contentes of the zip before installing it. What does it show in there.
It said 257 items- I watched for it the second time. I did screenshots- it was Data, Props, Runtime. Never had a problem like this before so not sure what else to look for, the MB matched that stated in the Product Library. It asked to merge Runtime, etc- nothing out of the usual.
When it downloads, for one thing it says 81.5 MB instead of the 32.68
I have the studio closed when I am downloading. So nothing funky there.
When I click and break down the content, the benches, chairs, etc are all there. So this is just annoying. I'll try it again later. I did clear my cache but I'll turn off the computer and come back to it later.
I checked around, and in Content Library it went to Default>Unassigned>Theme. Why did it do that if I did everything as usual- extracted then dragged to MyLibrary?
I just installed and it's showing the correct files. Do you have Zac hair? I assume so, in which case find its own entry under Products, then from the Content Library pane option menu open the Content DB Editor - it should be showing the entries for Zac hair. What value does it give for Token and Global ID? Provence has 17217 and a171bd33-0bd7-42c6-b89b-ce57ab9f9994 respectively.
I just bought the product and it installed correctly for me. Windows shows the .zip installer (IM00017217-01_ProvenceDS.zip) as 33,465 KB in size. If I go to my Product Library and look up Provence, the DS and PS installers are showing 32.68 MB and 32.57 MB respectively. It shouldn't be an 81.5MB file. In DS, the product installs to Props>Architecture>Provence.
I've posted a picture of the top half of the package files as shown in DIM. Select the Provence installer, right click, select Show Package Files..
If you keep on getting an 81.5 MB file when downloading via DIM, you can do a manual download from your Product Library, assuming it's reporting a 32 MB file, and download it your DIM download folder. Fire up DIM and Provence should show up in DIM's Ready to Install Tab.
Thanks so much- but I do a manual install, I never use DIM. I think there's something really serious going on with my studio. I am reinstalling AGAIN as now all my Products in Content Library have gone blank. Nothing under any of the letters. So let's see if a re-install fixes some of this mess. Smart Content is not moving off of the word "ALL." I posted a different thread on it as I've had NOTHING but problems with version 4.6 Content Management Service stops running when studio starts, when I am in the middle of something, you name it. I have NO products under number 1186 in my metadata listings. Nothing works.
Does the product have a Runtime\Support folder, and did you copy it over? IIRC that's the folder the metadata files are stored in.
Also, Provence is 17217, not 1186.
The 1186 has nothing to do with Provence :)
I've had a problem ever since version 4.6 came out that ALL my products under 1186 will not show up in Smart Content when the maintenance is opened. They're gone.
Oh, wow. I guess that brings the same question, have you been installing the support files?
Meaning what exactly? Is that the same thing as Companion file? I manually install everything needed, including Companion files, and the Support folder is full- content is there. :)
\Runtime\Support holds the metadata that is read in by the CMS. If you use DIM the CMS is populated automatically, but if you don't or if you need to reset the database then you need to go to the Content Library option menu (the menu button in the top corner or right-click the tab) and select Content DB Maintenance, check Re-import Metadata and then Accept, then uncheck any products you don't want added to the database in the next dialogue and Accept that.
Yes, I do that often- when products don't show up I go get the SKU number so I'll know where to find it quickly in that list.
Do you have time to explain what some of those other options are- I don't know when to use them. I've looked in the past for ONE place that has what each of those things do. If someone can explain these, I'll put this post in my reference section in the art studio thread, although I've been looking for a sticky with a post that has all this. Did I miss it?
Remove Un-mapped base paths and orphans (don't know what unmapped base paths are, orphans must be stranded-somethings!)
And how are THOSE orphans different than the next option- Remove Orphan File References
Consolidate File References
Condense Database
Process Metadata Queue (I assume if you have the studio open when you installed products, you'd want the studio to process the files?)
Re-import Metadata (to give it a second chance? I use this, and assume it's a you-didn't-get-it-right-the-first-time fallback.)
Export User Data (to backup your categories?) People need to do this often but I dont think newbies know what it does.
Reset Database- VERY SCARY SOUNDING. What does this do?
"Un-mapped paths" would be content listed in the CMS that is in a folder that isn't selected as a Content Directory. I'm not sure what orphans means here.
The second orphan removal is taking out entries in the CMS that point to files that aren't on the disc in the stated location.
Not sure about Consolidate fiel references, though it's probably related to the situation where there are two identically named and located files in different content directories - but I'm not sure what it will do there.
process metadata queue loaded the metadata for anything installed with the BitRock installers after DS was launched - if you are using DIM or manually unzipping it won't do anything (unless you manually set up the files for queuing).
Re-Import gives you the dialogue listing everything, so you can add it back in
Export User data is to save changes you've made to the default values, yes.
Reset is scary - it wipes the database so you cans tart over if it becomes corrupt (or you want to lose all customisations).
I believe that in "Remove Unmapped Base Paths and Orphans", the orphans part means content which is in those unmapped paths, even if it exists. The regular Remove Orphans removes content that does not exist in the location pointed to -- if the content exists in an unmapped base path it is NOT removed.
So a logical question is what causes something to have an unmapped path and...
what is an unmapped path?
Does it mean when something gets installed (say I drag it over to MyLibrary) that it doesn't get sorted to where it needs to go?
The files are listed in the CMS database by their absolute path - that is, starting from the drive letter. If the beginning of the path isn't a folder you have selected as a content directory of some kind then it's unmapped.
