It seems I made chaotic movements and messed with F/stop and Depth of field

I was playing with the camera settings and depth of field and looks like I made a chaotic click on render settings but now when I reduce the F/stop the depth of field becomes more deep although it should be the opposite.

Any ideas how to fix this will be highly welcome:-)

    Did it go negative?

    Yes, it could go negative.

Now I cannot load the scene but I suspect it is possible I accidentally reduced the focus distance a lot - making it less then the lower depth of field limit so I mistook the focus distance for the lower DoF limit... if this is possible at all (from photographic point of view it sounds weird). Does the focus distance in daz affects only the depth of field range?

It does, yes - as you increase Focal distance the DoF are also increases.  I alos recall having fun and games with DoF (via watching the DoF bounding planes) when Focal Distance had become really huge for some reason.

  • This is a screen from utube tutorial. Which plane is the marked (last) plane? It is not the focal distance, right?

No, that looks to be 'just' the usual camera view bounding 'thing'.  The two smaller planes in the middle woudl be the DoF planes.  A trick I use is to go into teh Display settings of the Camera and set DOF Plane Color to a distinct colour (usually red).

Thanks, I will do the same. Looks like this bounding thingy went ahead and thus I was frustrated which plane is which.
