Question on BWC Skies installation - why is this considered a prop and not a light set?

Took me forever to find it after installing - silly me, I was looking under 'lights' and it all installs under 'props'.

Let me see - sky dome, UE2 instance, diffuse light, specular light - nothing here screams 'prop' at me. I'll report it tomorrow - it's time to go lights-out for the night.

Sky Dome is a prop. It needs the Dome to work.

EDIT: With the Skies that is.

Dimension Theory's 'skies of economy' includes a skydome - and the package installs to lights, not props.

I think that is upto the PA as to which type Item they get Flagged for. I'm sorry my info was not helpful.

Apologies - I came over a bit testy there. :-)

I really should have hit the sack a couple of hours ago, but I've been playing with the light set -- it really is a nice set, quite flexible. I haven't looked to see how big the skydome is but it IS big enough for a number of the outdoor sets. I've been playing with it and Stonemason's Backstreets. I really should go to bed, but I'm having too much fun. :-) (retirement has some benefits!)

I've had to decide... Props... Or Lightset and checked where the skydomes I own are located (for example to name a well known one:"Skies of Reality") - and decided it should go to Props, as there are the most skydomes (I own) with their light are located.

Thought the skydome is the "main part" of the product and so it fits there really better.

I am glad you like the set and hope to see some renders done with it soon :)

I thought they were UE2-based lights, but nothing actually says they are, 'just' "10 skydomes with lights". Now I know they are UE2 I will go get them! :)

Can't fault you on that count, I guess. Looking at what I've got it seems fairly evenly split between lumping things in props or splitting the lights to lights and the domes to props (I'm a light set junkie :-) ).

Skies of reality volumes one and two are split, dome in props and lights in lights; skies of economy and skies of terra volume one has both in props; Predatron's essential lights and skies put both in lights. Just gotta love consistency!

Looks like its time for me to start actually working with the smart content. :-)
