Poser and Content Management

Ok, so I just recently purchased Poser 9 on the cheap (I'm cheap, so that makes sense). Now, I'm only marginally familiar with Poser anyway, having only owned (and rarely used) Poser 7. And now I find myself in an interesting situation. Primarily, since I got into 3D "art" via Daz Studio 3, I've never actually organized my runtime folders logically. I've always just let content install to the default locations. This means that I now have a runtime for Daz Studio 3, one for Daz Studio 4.x, one for Poser 7 (and 9), and the one being created by the DIM. All of which are using default folder structure.

This means, that all of my content is a bit jumbled with respect to Poser. Finding anything is difficult at best, since I have to browse the (large number of) folders to find what I want to load.

My question is: is there a content management plugin for Poser that can help me arrange my content from all of my runtimes in a similar fashion to the Daz Studio CMS? Or (even better) a plugin that can read the CMS database file within Poser? If not, what would be the recommended way to rebuild my Runtimes to be in a more logical structure? I.e., how would I go about pulling out all V4 specific clothes and putting them in a dedicated Runtime?

Oh, and today my CMS service crashed, corrupting the ContentDB.Dat file. I'm going to have to rebuild the whole Custom Folder Structure I built within DS4.6 anyways, so this is a perfect time to explore this.

Not that I am aware of.

But this is how I organize my content - http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/2460/#32068

Runtimes in P7 still need the strict internal file structure that has been a part of Poser since the beginning. P9 runtimes are more flexible but it still often easier to stick to the old conventions at times.

You might want to check out RDNA's Library Manager 2. It is an external library manager for Poser that has a DS plugin.

I moved my Poser 7 contents to an External Drive. I created folder PP2012 for which all genesis/genesis2 related contents go into, I now use Poser Pro 2014 and when I extract contents off a zip file, I either point to Poser 7 content folder or PP2012 content folder. I've added these folders into Poser's content library as well as DAZ content manager (?). I have no problems locating them in either program.

This sounds promising. Does it actively move files around, or is it just a DB style content manager?

I can also locate my files, it's just not as efficient as the CMS can make it. Hence why I was wondering if there was anything similar to the CMS for Poser.

My choice was ShaderWorks Library Manager 2.6 mainly because I am on Mac. Library Manager is much better than the native Poser Library and works like a charm. You also can take a look on PzDB 1.2 Single Version License which runs on Windows and seems as good as DS CMS.
