Can't get V4 Ranger clothing to work.

Last night I purchased the "Victoria 4.2 Starter Bundle" and "V4 Ranger".
The V4 Ranger product says that it requires "Victoria 4.2 Morphs++" which is included in the Bundle that I bought.

I was able to put a Victoria 4.2 model into my scene. However, I could not put any of the clothes from the V4 Ranger onto the model. There was no error message, no warning that something wasn't right. It just would not work. I would drag and drop an item onto the model and nothing happened. At one point, I was able to add a sword from the V4 Ranger to the model, but when I deleted it and tried again it would not work.

I tried adding clothing from standard DAZ3D content library, and those worked (but did not always fit the model).

What am I missing? I am stumped.

You should find the Ranger clothes in Poser formats / Figures

I'm not sure that I understand what you are telling me. I have no trouble finding the Ranger clothes. The problem is that when I try to put them onto the V4.2 model nothing happens.

I was able to get the Ranger sword into the scene once, but have been unable to repeat that feat.

What I am saying is that the actual clothes are under Poser formats / figures. The mats for them are under a different folder (I am not totally up on the whole DS file structure), and the sword is in the Poser format / Props Library.

Sometimes people do try and load the mats for a clothing set rather than loading the actual clothes.

I don't have this set, so can't guide you through

What chohole is telling you, is that the clothing items are in Poser Format, and what you are trying to 'load' is probably just a DAZ Studio Format texture for the clothing model.

You must look in the Content Library > Poser Formats > Figures > 3D Universe V4, for the clothing, and load it from there. You can then apply the DS materials to them.

This item does not appear to have Metadata, so it wont appear in Smart Content.

    EDIT:

I have this item, and I can guide you further if needed.

OK. I understand now. Thank you both for taking the time to reply. I will try using the items from the Poser directory tree tonight.

    Thanks again!

The clothes and props appear in "Content Library > Poser Formats > My Library > Figures > 3D Universe - V4" and "Content Library > Poser Formats > My Library > Props > 3D Universe - V4" (assuming your content folder is named My Library).
If you are looking in "People > Victoria 4 > Clothing > 3d Universe > V4 Ranger", those are just the material settings -- you need to load the clothing first from the Poser Formats section.
Did you install these manually or using DAZ3D Install Manager? There should be two separate packages, "V4 Ranger" and "V4 Ranger StudioCF" -- the first is the clothing, the second is the material presets for DAZ Studio.

I used the DAZ Install Manager to download and install them.
I saw the "V4 Ranger" and "V4 Ranger StudioCF" folders. I was grabbing the clothing from the V4 Ranger folder, but I was under the DAZ3D directory rather than the Poser directory.

    Thanks.
