Does it have to be installed on your C drive? Or can you install it on another drive? I'm asking for both programs; Daz and Poser.

Anywhere you like, actually. Just remember where you installed and make sure you put the path to the Runtime/Content folders into both Daz Studio and Poser.

Well, anywhere you like except (in recent Windows versions) inside a Program Files folder. (This is a special protected location in Windows Vista, 7 and 8. It's for programs only, if you put data files for your content in there, Weird Stuff™ is likely to happen.) The default location is inside your Documents folder, but that's all it is, a default setting that can be changed. If you want, the starter content that you get with D|S or Poser can also be moved to another drive. Actually, it might save a bit of complication if you install new content in the same place as the starter content — that way, there's only one content location to worry about.
