I just saw this article this morning:

Admittedly the physics in what they were showing still needs work and everything looks more video-game quality....but it is interesting where the future is going for film making

'Ooo' boy. Holodeck here we come. Things are really accelerating regarding live CG rendering.

    nice. thanks for posting.
I'm a little upset that they're going to pull the plug on The Clone Wars animated series. 8-/

I saw this.. I doubt its going to remove the need for post production though. will definitely speed up production.

I agree about the quality, looks like a lot of the video game tricks were used to speed up the live action rendering.

Some people say this was the MoCap tech used to make the game Star Wars 1313. I cannot be very sure but does not the narrator refer to some "game engine"? I remember UDK was promised to have realtime rendering feature for artists. But I'm not sure it would eliminate the need of CG and postproduction. On the other hand the postproduction just will be replaced with massive preproduction to have the needed fx, props, etc in the hands, so, nothing really changes that much. Still, this is good for 3d animations and sci-fi actions, not filmed drama.
