    Rofl.

That is gorgeous looking, but yea I'm not willing to bite the bullet either in the off-chance it is only for DS. You can't really tell based on his product history, it's kind of a co-mingling.

Especially as SoulessEmpathy's stuff is sometimes Poser and DS and sometimes DS only ...

Heh yep. Guess we had the same thought at the same time. I was editing my post to say that just as you were posting.

This has been reported to DAZ.

But it does look lovely - fills my fantasy loving soul with warmth. :)
But it is doubtful it is Poser - there are only DazStudio and "Maya Realtime Viewport" promos ...

Umm I admit I had to check but everything with a DS Installer says DSON Installer. (Check out Jack's stuff and you will see
    This product includes:

    1 DSON Core Installer
    1 Poser Core Installer
    1 DAZ Studio Legacy Installer

The DSON just means DAZ Studio. If it said a Poser Companion file installer then, it might have the importer files But I did check the Sun Hall And have pointed out the issue to the appropriate person

And then jen wakes up and goes OHHHHH .. but yeah she's reported it to the right person..

*grabs the coffee and starts drinking* and i have been up since 4 am sheesh..

Nooo the sun hall seems to be DS only. (the file I pulled down has .duf files and ds setups. No poser files. Definately no character files.. LOL

    If that helps anyway

Bummer. It's a superb model - would love to use it in Poser.

Has anyone actually bought this? It looks amazing but the description is limited, to say the least.

I like the look of this. I think it has tremendous sci fi potential. If there is a catchup sale at the end of the month I'm buying it.

It is absolutely spectacular. What I could render of it so far :D

My primary rendering machine is an old iMac with 4gig of RAM. I loaded the scene and left all the defaults (including shading rate), and after a little over an hour, it stalled out at 64% complete.

It is *very* heavy on light sources, including an UberEnvironment.

My much newer laptop has 16gig of RAM and a very basic installation of DAZ 4.6 on it. Let me do the DIM thingy for this kit over there and see if I can crank out a finished result in the next hour or two.

OK, full default scene render should be done in about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, I moved the set into MODO to get a polygon count. Right about 1.55 million, for the curious.

Here's a little detail I grabbed from the MODO walkthrough; the archway above the throne. These details are almost all modeled, not mapped.

So, yeah. Stunning piece of work.

Pretty much a repro of one of the ad shots, but this is straight out of the box, no tweaking, no post.

There are more bits of business back behind the camera. At least one more balcony set high above the rear door.

I bought it. Its not poser compatible (not that i can tell anyway) and in DS, it loads as a scene file (which has lights set up in it, cameras and such already ready for ya)
It was far too gorgeous for me to not get lol Love this set

Thanks for the info, and the renders! My machine only has 4gb of ram so this will probably kill Daz if I try to render it.

Is there an OBJ file for this? If there is maybe I could retexture it and then use it in Poser. Otherwise, I think I'll have to return it. I hate returning anything but if I can't import one way or another, It's a waste?

I was fooled by the DSON file statement. When I see that, it makes me think I can import it into Poser.

Looks lovely, and I can see many itneresting scenes in it.. though I am uncertain ifmy computer can handle it, so I am going to have to pass on it :) Perhaps in the future.. or so I hope *laughs*

You could try importing it via DSON Importer using Dimension 3D's free script that lets you browse to a file, rather than going through the library with a PoserCF, though I'd guess you would at least need to redo al the materials and if it depends on edge-weighting or the like it might not work at all.

I tried the script, found the DUF files and So far it shows up as nothing. The hall appears to be there but it appears to be invisible and it locked up Poser. I will keep on trying. Thank for the help anyway, Richard.

I have a question about this product- How does it look up close? I like the look of it, but all the promo shots are distance shots. I'm curious about the throne area, and the textures and how they look, since I tend to do more close-up work than scenery shots.

It's really spectacular. And ... big. And has a lot of lights, which means that if you don't have a fair amount of RAM and processing power, you're in for a very long long long render. (I have 16GB and AMD's version of a quad-core i7 -- I think -- which means that my render was merely very long.) And it's ... big.

    Did I mention it's big?

Also, it's one of those sets where what you see in the workspace viewport is not even vaguely like what comes out in a render. Everything in the workspace is red red red, and the render is ... not. As far as lights go, using anything but the included set would be difficult, if only because it's so big that developing your own light set would be a pain. It comes with a sky backdrop, so that's what you're seeing through the windows. If you want something different, you can either retexture it or just make it invisible or swap it out for whatever.

For some reason, it only comes with one preload, but everything inside the preload comes in groups, which makes me think that it's possible to pull it apart. I'll have to try that when the render finishes. Someday.... any day .... Also, it has simple and advanced materials. It's not at all clear which ones are on the preload, or what the difference is. Or, for that matter, how you apply them or to what. I think perhaps it needed a few more separate pieces -- if nothing else, people will seldom if ever need to include the whole massive thing in a single image. I'm not sure it's even possible to do so. (EDIT: Render completed, so I can look at the groups, and it is possible to pull it apart, so you can save your own partial scene presets. Whether they'll position properly, I'm not sure. But at least, since it's not all one piece, it's possible to do scenes that aren't so hard on the workstation.)

Sun Hall comes with five cameras which are more or less meant to replicate the views you see in the promo images. The image here is from a separate camera that I have in my default scenes.

OK, so this image took 35 minutes to render, so this is as good as it gets tonight. Default lighting and everything but the camera.
