Modifying content

Hello,

I have some content that I bought from the content store that includes a sword and scabbard. I like the sword, but the scabbard has a sash that goes over the shoulder, and I want the scabbard to be on the figure's belt. Is there a way to edit the scabbard to remove the sash? They are not separate items in the content as I bought it.

Similarly, I want to create a creature that would look more or less like a 800 pound honey badger :-) Is there a way to start with something like a bear and modify the shape of the body and head?

Thanks.

For the scabbard, it might help to know which product you are working with.

For the honey badger, probably you'd need to take the bear figure (or whatever figure you decide to work with) into a modeling program and sculpt it from there, rather than trying to do it in DAZ Studio. Then again, the Genesis figure can be turned into all sorts of critters including a mouse, a gorilla, a dog, and I've even seem someone make a ground sloth. So a giant honey badger just might be possible too...

The scabbard is part of the "V4 Ranger" pack.

For the overgrown honey badger, I may buy the Content Creator and try from scratch, or I may try morphing the "Gargoyle Hound" or the "Ursus Arctos" as a starting point. I'm just not sure if content that is purchased can be modified in that way. I'll give it a try. I'll eventually need the Content Creator anyway.

    Thanks for the reply.

try switching to the Surface Selection tool, from the tool menu, then click on the sash and in the Surfaces pane (Winow>Panes(Tabs)>Surfaces) set Opacity to 0%. If there are bits left, click on them and set their opacity to 0. As long as nothing you want to keep is hidden you should then have a scabbard you can use as if attached to the belt.

Excellent idea. Invisible is as good as gone. I will try that tonight!
    Thanks.
