Partially overlaying animation with another

Hello!

I have an animation where a model is walking with a gun pointing straight forward.

It looks great, but I would like the model to have the gun pointing downwards instead of forward.

I have tried to google a solution for this, but I didn't even find a starting point.

Or do I have to change the arm / hand pose for every keyframe?

Could anybody give me a push to the right direction of how this could be done?

Thank you.

  • There's two ways you can do this. First, click on the plus sign at the top left of the aniblocks tab with the character highlighted to add a sub level (or whatever it's technically called). Then right click by the name and add an aniblock. Click on it, then click on the first tiny box and move the arm where you want. That block should override the running aniblock. For me, it's a 50/50 split on it working or not, but I've gotten heads to turn, arms moving, etcetera this way.

The second way, which I just started doing after getting it, is using keymate. What you'd want to do is once you get all of your aniblocks for the scene placed, bake those keyframes to the timeline. Then go into keymate and select all of the keyframes for her arms/hands and delete them and make them do whatever you want! If you have keymate, I'd recommend this way, and if you don't have it, definitely look into it if you're doing animation. Someone told me it was essentail about a month ago, I picked it up and have been so happy I did. You can also copy and paste keyframes there as well.

    Good luck!
