When I load an HD Model in daz studio is there anything special I have to do in oder to see the (high def) details.

    Make sure the Mesh Resolution is on High Resolution, not Base) and set the model's Render subdivision to 3 or 4. Both settings are in Parameters pane General/Mesh Resolution section.

    You may still not see HD details unless your render is a closeup.

    Do you mean see in the viewpor rather than in renders? For that you have to increase the main Subdivision level slider, not the Render Subdivision level - but be aware that it will have an impact on the viewport performance.
