Sorting Content - What do others do?

I’ve been playing with Daz on and off for a couple of years, but I’m still very much a newbie. I play for a few months then get busy with life and come back to it again a few months later. As a result I’m finding it hard to keep track of some of the content I’ve gathered, especially content from third party sites that I’ve manually installed. I’m forever loosing stuff or completely forgetting I have it until I stumble on it later.

Does anyone else have this problem? How do others keep track of their content?

I create categories myself in the content library (not smart content) and oganize everything in a way that makes sense to me.  It is extra work to do this everytime you install some new content. DAZ updates some content to fix errors and that sometimes causes items to disapear from my categories, so I have to check after updating every product to make sure it is still there in my content.

Here is a link to how to set up custom categories with examples.  This is how I do it and I currently have over 10,000 items categorized.  I know exactly where everything is because I designed it to work in a way that makes sense to me.
