Where can I find the normal maps for Teen Josie 7 pro?

I checked the texture folder but it's missing the normal/bump maps.

    Which character? Teen Josie 7 Pro is a bundle of multiple items. Why are you wanting to find the maps? They should be applied by the character and materials presets, and usually there will also be a preset to turn them off and on without affecting the other settings.

    If you are talking about the Teen Josie 7 base character, you can usually find the information that you are looking for by opening the product page and noting the SKU #. For Teen Josie 7 that is 22585. Now click on the Help menu here on the DAZ3D site and choose TO THE WIKI under DOCUMENTATION CENTRE. On the resulting page enter the SKU (22585) in the search box at the upper right.  Scroll down through the results to the Teen Josie 7 Documentation link and click on it. That will open the Readme for Teen Josie 7. Scroll down the page and find the "file list" under Additional Details. That will open a complete listing of all the files included with the product. The maps included will show up under the /Runtime/Textures folders. In the case of the Teen Josie character there seem to be bump (denoted by a "B" in the filename) map, a diffuse map (denoted by a "D" in the filename, and a specular map (denoted by an "S" in the filename). No displacement or normal maps are indicated.

    A quicker way is to open the complete Teen Josie 7 character in DAZ studio, go to the Surfaces tab and select the Base or Diffuse channel for the face, left-click it and choose Browse. That will take you to the location of all the included maps for the character, providing you with the location and filenames and indicate whether the desired maps are even included.

    If it is one of the characters for Teen Josie 7 that were included in the Pro bundle that you are referring to, you can follow the procedure above to locate any normal maps that may exist for them (or not).

    Hi, I wanted to export the model(Josie) but I get no normal maps and the folder only has other textutes but not bump/normal maps.

    Thanks I searched there too but I can't find any trace of normal maps.

    The product says it should have :

    • 24 Texture, Bump, Normal and Specular Maps (4096 x 4096)
    • 11 Texture, Bump, Transparency and Reflection Maps (2048 x 2048)
    • Texture Templates available through the Product Library
    • But I haven't been able to find it.

    I don't have Teen Josie 7 myself, Hans, so I can't check the files myself unfortunately. However, despite the product description, I can find no indication of normal maps in the file list. There are, however, bump maps listed. If you do not have those, you could try manually downloading the Teen Josie 7 files from your Product Linbrary here on the DAZ site and opening them up to see what they contain. Although I don't have Teen Josie 7, I do have Aiko 7, Mei Lin 7, Izabella 7, Monique 7, Girl 7 and others.  Some of them come with normal maps ( Mei Lin 7 has face, arms, torso and legs, as do Monique 7 and Izabella 7; Girl 7 has eyes only), while Aiko 7 does not include normal maps. So there is some variation despite the descriptions listing normal maps.

    Edit: For crying out loud. I do have Teen Josie 7 (a sign that I may have way too much content). I always download my content manually, so I checked the contents of the .zip archive, and can confirm that there are no normal maps, but you should have bump, subsurface scattering and specular maps in addition to the diffuse, transparency and reflection maps, for a total of 35 maps.

    The problem is that bump maps from other models are not always very compatible with my specific model. So I would require her original normal maps.

    Listing normal maps is probably a cut and paste error in the text of the product page. There seem to be no normal maps for Teen Josie 7. You can submit a help request and ask customer service about the issue. They should either provide them (unlikely, because they probably were never created) or at least correct the product page. If this is a deal breaker for you, request a refund, if you have purchased the product within the last 30 days.

    "bump maps from other models"

    I wasn't suggesting that you use bump maps from one of the other models. As I said, bump maps are included with Teen Josie 7.
