Where's Ron's stuff?

Hi, all - quite new to this, but enjoying it.  I bought a few of the "Ron's" items.  The Ron's birds I can find easily.  Ron's Glitter and Ron's Dry Ice I can find nowhere.  I have installed, then uninstalled and installed again.  DIM shows no installs queued.  I don't see it in "lost and found."  Don't see it with a search.  Don't see it in "all content."  Just not sure where to look and why it's not showing up.

Ron's Glitter and Dry Ice are Photoshop brushes. The backgrounds should be in General>deviney>Ron's Glitter>Glitter Backgrounds. They won't be visable in the Studio library, but you can right click the empty area where the files would normaly show and select "browse to folder location" and Windows will open up the folder for you so you get to them.

I was thinking it was something like that.  This will be a new learning challenge then.  wink  Thank you!

So I'm probably misunderstanding, but I see the main DAZ workspace, and in the smart content tab I see the gray area where files show - but if I click on it, I don't get any message asking me to browse to folder location.  Am I clicking in the wrong space?

    mmm, maybe,,,

You can also right click on the word "deviney" and the menu choice should be there aswell.

Sorry for being such a newbie, but I am now trying to figure out this very basic question - do I use them in *Photoshop* as a post-render edit, or do I use them in DAZ3D.  If it's Photoshop, I am unclear how to migrate the brushes over there.

If you told DIM that you have Photoshop installed, your brushes should already be there.

The backgrounds will just need to be opened with Photoshop. Then Layer your finished render on top of it. I just started with photoshop myself, so I'm not much help with it I'm afraid.

The backgrounds can also be used in Studio. On the "Environments" tab click the drop down box that says "none" and click "Backdrop". Next to the color bar, you should see a small arrow, click it, and navigate to where your backgrounds are stored and click the one you would like to use.

edit: Yes, you use the Photoshop brushes in Photoshop. The background images can be used in Studio "as is".

I always download brushes manually, then extract them into a folder on one of my HDs, imaginatively called Brushes. Then when I want to use them in PS i load them,  and reset after I have finished using them, because Brushes bloat PS so much to keep them all stored there.

Its much easier to load brushes into Photoshop if you do a manual install.  I load all of mine to a folder named Photoshop Brushes (I know, original righ? lol) Once they are where I wan them I then go to Program Files/Adobe Photoshos CC (2017 or 2018, whatever the latest version you have is)/Presets/ Brushes then drag and drop them into that file.  Once you have them there, you can load Photoshop, go to the brushes menu and right click on the gear setting and click on load brushes.
