Included Daz Studio Content
I am a old user, but I have not had Daz Studio on my computer for years as I took a hiatus from 3D artwork. What figurs come with Daz Studio these days? I have several generations of Daz Genesis Figures already in my library. Does Genesis 8 come with the software installation--or is that a separate purchase? Is Daz Studio still fairly easy to use?
I have been trying to learn the new Poser Pro 11.1, but it's been frustrating and difficult espeially when using legacy content (which I have a ton of). There's a lot of tweaking to be done and learned. So I want to install Daz Studio as well--as I really don't want ot use Dyson--I think Genesis works easiest in Daz Studioj natively. I miss the old days of loading a figure and just having fun making a picture without having to do a ton of materials adjustments to make it look right.
Comments
If I recall correctly, gen 1 to 8 (for both genders) base figures are included.
Edit: As well as some clothes and poses, though a bit lacking in the hair department tbh
You should know that the content that is included free for DAZ Studio does not come packaged in the DAZ Studio installer itself, but as separate downloads referred to as the Starter Essentials packages that you will find in your DAZ product library here on the site once you have "purchased" DAZ Studio. These packages are Genesis Starter Essentials, Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials, Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials, Genesis 3 Female Starter Essentials, Genesis 3 Male Starter Essentials, Genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials and Genesis 8 Male Starter Essentials. They may be downloaded from your Product Library here manually in .zip archives, which you should be familiar with, or through DIM (Daz Install Manager) or through Connect. Choose your poison.
Additionally, there are several free tutorials available that also come with additional free content. They are Inside the Asylum Bundle, Day at the Beach Bundle, Sci-Fi Warrior Bundle and Slaying the Dragon Bundle.
Most of your old content should work in DAZ Studio fine using the 3Delight render engine. The exception will be those items using Poser material presets where some adjustments to the settings will be required in order to account for the differences between 3Delight and Firefly. This has been the case for a long while. If you wish to use the Iray render engine, then conversion from 3Delight materials is required. This will be done automatically by DAZ Studio when you switch from 3Delight to Iray, but some materials may require individual tweaking for best results.
