Exported model doesn't have origin at 0-0-0

Hello!

I would like to export a model (a pistol in my case) out of DAZ.

I have set the model's translation to 0-0-0.

I have then exported it both as FBX and as OBJ.

In both cases, the model doesn't have its original at 0-0-0 but far away.

I have checked it both in Blender and in Unity.

What might be the cause for that?

And is there a way to fix this in DAZ?

Thank you very much!

Origin isn't a value that is preserved in the .obj file. Either an object is at the center of the 3d universe or it isn't. If it is, and it's exported, it should (in theory), be at the center in other programs.

Even though you've zeroed the pistol in DS, it may not be at the center. One way you can check this is to create a cube primitive at roughly the size of the pistol - say, 20x20x20cm. That will appear dead center in DS. Is the pistol aligned with it, or is it at a distance? If it isn't aligned, you can use the Align pane to fix it. In the scene pane, select the cube first, then the pistol (by CTRL-clicking them), the use the Align options to match them up.

After you export it, it be fine.
