DS 4.6 suddenly not opening

ok this is an oddity for me. Suddenly today, DS won't open.

I get the splash screen, where normally you see it running through all the processes (all those little words down the bottom).

It is completely stuck on "connecting to CMS" and won't go any further.

I've never had this problem before. I haven't installed anything new (software or otherwise), I havne't uninstalled anything - I haven't done anything different since using DS yesterday.

Anyone have any ideas at all?

...do you have any other applications or processes running that are CPU intensive?

This happened to me a lot with FF I'd start it up and it would just hang in memory taking about 2MB and do nothing. Apparently some kind of a script kept crashing which forced me to perform a restart then it worked fine. Now I routinely clear the cache, cookies and clean the registry (CCleaner) every morning before I start working or go online. Since I adopted this routine, FF now opens without an issue.

What security software are you using? It may have updated itself and is blocking communication between DS and CMS.

i'll check on both those things, but here's a question: would how much space you have left on your C drive make a difference?

It's possible, how low is your free space?

VERY low. I've got 6.5gb free. :sigh:

I don't think that would cause a problem.

...doesn't Daz Studio swap to disk though when opening or loading a scene? (just a guess)

Unless you set your startup scene to something really massive, it wouldn't need several GB.

...mime is always a blank viewport. Not even Genesis loads when the programme is opened.
