Save dialog in DS

In practically all other programs (including Poser) the Save button/menu point just saves the project right away, with no menu's or anything. Simple and easy.
In DS though, you have to click through two dialogs, plus it doesn't even remember the filename so you either have to type it in again or select it from the file list (and if there are many files you maybe even have to scroll through the list to find it).
Why on earth have they done it that way? If you want the dialog, you can just choose Save As. I save my scenes quite often, in case DS crashes or whatever, so it's really annoying to have to go through these dialogs all the time.

What version are you using, it doesn't do that in DS 4.6.0.15. If I click on Save with no file previously saved, it asks for a file name (logically), but ever after, it just saves over the earlier one with no dialogue at all.
Does it still give you a dialogue box even when using Ctrl+S?
It's 4.6.0.18. Maybe it's a bug?
And yes, Ctrl+S does the same.
I don't have 4.6.0.18 installed, maybe someone else can check it for you.
Hang on for a bit
In order to avoid over-writing content files by mistake the save dialogue is shown for already named files unless the creator's name is set in the sceen and matches the creator's name set in DS - put something (anything) in the Name field by clicking Edit in Edit>Preferences>General and you will not be prompted when saving scenes you create in future.
Thanks, that fixed it. Is this a new feature, or have I just forgotten to enter my name during installation or something?
I think it started with 4.5
I think it started with 4.5
OK. That must be why I haven't experienced it before I guess...
