Genesis 3 Male bad joint bends on computer

I've been having this problem with Genesis 3 males on a computer that's got me stumped.  It renders fine on one system with an Intel CPU.  On the AMD CPU (Threadripper), the joints are all bad.  They're bigger, like perhaps the JCMs aren't loading.

They have all the same DAZ content.  The Intel system drive got corrupted & I had to install Windows and everything.  From the AMD system, I exported what was installed to a CSV, then used that list to install everything.  Should be the same save a few smart content items, but I'm at least 99% sure none of what I had is for G3M.  Before the blowup, I had the same results.  After the blowup, still the same - rebuilt Intel rig renders well, AMD rig does not.  Another difference, my Daz content is installed on the C: drive of the Intel system.  On the AMD, most is on the D: drive.

I had a similar with G3F, that seemed to be from incomplete morph directories on one drive (C:).  I moved all the morphs over to D:, that seemed to cure it.  I think it helped once here with G3M, but most of the time it doesn't.  I also tried wiping the entire "data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Male" directory from the AMD system, and copying the files and dirs from the Intel system over to it.  That didn't work.

I looked at the logs, removed the timestamps and compared the text files.  Can't find any reason in the log why it's happening.  Another forum thread pointed to a problem with Skinchangers.  I confirmed I don't have that.

If you look at the pics, the right AMD the shoulders are bigger, and right elbow is more pointed.  It looks really wrong without a shirt.

Help?  I'm stumped.

I fail to see how either AMD or Intel can affect such matters at the software level, unless you have a faulty build; you should see other software failing to perform if it is the hardware. You seem to be taking a mighty large leap based on no evidence.

If something isn't loading start higher up - ie not at the processor level... But is something not loading, or is this an assumption.

Symptoms of problems, if indeed that is what you're seeing, are not the problem, merely a symptom.

I think you misinterpreted my post, it's not bashing AMD in any way, it's just differentiating the systems. Something is making joint bends bads on the newer system, which happens to be on an AMD CPU. Help? Stumped here.

What you should probably do is look at the "Shaping" tab for both figures, click on the "Currently Used" item, and toggle on "Show Hidden Properties."  This would let you do a item-by-item comparison of all the morphs being used for that figure.  One possibility is that you're missing a morph on the second system (i.e. maybe a JCM of some sort) that's causing the shape to come out different, or else that the second system has an extra morph that's being triggered.

  • Thanks for the tip @rames44 - see the same thing for both.  It appears that everything shows up when showing all properties, including those with zero values.  Both computers Currently Used look the same.
