Open Download Manager...Safe?

There's a Poser/Daz Studio freebie someone made for Genesis but in order to download it, I need Open Download Manager. Which, of course, I really DON'T want or need. But there's really no way around this since I really want that freebie.

Does anyone on here have Open Download Manager? Is it safe?

    Greetings,
Really...? It _requires_ the use of a download accelerator? More over one that only runs on Windows?

    Can I ask what freebie?

Yes it's safe. A large percentage of people are using it. What freebie are you talking about?

Only DAZ products can be used in DIM

These aren't Daz Products as far as I know. They are freebies. Does that still apply?

You can't use those products in DIM because they aren't DAZ products.

    Greetings,
Frank, it's the "Open Download Manager", a specific product...not DIM.

Okay, that's a SKETCHY site, with $#!tty morals (to be clear, I mean the 'linkbucks' site, not the freebie author themselves). I understand the desire to monetize freebie downloads, but...bleh.

Instead of clicking the dialog box that pops up (which is why you think you need "Open Download Manager", click the 'Skip this ad' link in the upper right.

You do NOT need to download Open Download Manager, and given that method of pushing it at you, I would strongly recommend against doing so.

    Greetings,
Just in case we crossed posts and you didn't see, not having DIM has nothing to do with it. You don't need the Open Download Manager, and should probably not choose to download it.

Just click the 'Skip this ad' link, and you'll be immediately downloading the actual armors. They look neat, so I've picked them up myself, and didn't have to download anything other than the armor.

Don't use that download manager, I have been bitten twice. And was left trying to clean up the mess.

I thought I seen a couple of those armors on ShareCG? Not sure but they looked similar. Hope this helps a little :-).

The Open Download Manager button is crap and is meant to trick people into clicking it- it's not the real download. The actual button is the "skip this ad" in the upper right, which if you hover over it, will show a dropbox download link to the associated *.rar file.

If you start using Adblock, you'll see nothing but the "skip this ad" button and won't be fooled. :)

    Where do I get AdBlock?

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/?src=search
    Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-plus/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb?hl=en-US

I can't help you if you use IE, I haven't used that since Win98. lol

Once installed, go to it's options/settings and make sure you have EasyList (English), and I also recommend Malware Domains and EasyPrivacy. I also have it set to allow some non-intrusive advertising.
