TRYING TO ANIMATE TWO MODELS ON THE SCREEN AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT THE LAGGING

Hi,  So I have a 7th gen i7 core processor, 12 GB of ram, and a 1070i nvidia GPU with 6GB of ram.  All this but when I try to work with GEN 8 models on the screen, there is still way too much lag.  And trying to navigate the models into positions is tiresomeand very de-motivating.  I've tried turning them into wire frames, that helps a little.  But I'm wondering what would make them easier to manipulate when there are multiple props and models on the screen at once?  More ram, using Iray mode, a 9th gen processors, or does nothing really make things smoother?

There is a possibility Daz Studio isn’t picking up your card for viewport display. Go to preferences, and check the display tab if it is utilizing your 1070.

  • When that happens for me, if I haven't moved anything in my environment from a preloaded scene, I just unparent any immediate props the characters are using and delete the entire environment otherwise. Then the characters move no problem, and then when I get the animation to where I want it, I just reload the scene and render away.

Do you have the nVidea preview turned on while you do the posing, in any of the windows? If yes, switch it off. Also, you can try turning the viewport in EDIT-->Preferences to "Best", that might help.

Thx, i will try all of these ideas.  Okay, BeeMkay, I'm not sure what you mean by NVidia preview turned on.  Do you mean the viewport?  Anyway, nothing seems to work.  So am i right to assume that the Graphics card is what is supposed to make working in a 3d environment easy to navigate thru?  Cause I hit play on the animate timeline and everything is moving so choppy that I don't even want to try to animate anymore.  Very frustrating.

I just checked.  It's using my card, but the pixel buffer size in not enabled.  The Display Optimization was set to none, and the Pixel Buffer was set to off.  I'm not sure if  changing any of these will improve my situation or not
